Jason Farris Brown, aka Colt Ford, was born in Athens, GA.  He was formerly a professional golfer, spending the majority of that time as a golf instructor.  Colt spent about seven years in golfing and visited 20 countries.

Colt always loved music, and decided to pursue a career in the music industry.  He is a very talented musician and song writer, also gifted at playing guitar and the drums.  Colt signed with Average Joe's Entertainment, which he also co-founded.

Colt's music is a mixture of country, rock, and rap.  Fans love his music not only for his style, but because they can relate to the simple way of country living.  His music is as real as it gets, and he once stated in an interview that the reasons fans love him so much is because he sings about real life.  When he gets off stage, he is the same as everyone else, not out "drinking wine or eating tofu".

Colt has released the albums 'Ride through the Country', 'Chicken & Biscuits', 'Every Chance I Get', and 'Declaration of Independence'.  Colt wrote the song 'Buck'em', for the Professional Bullriders Association.  He has sang along with many artists such as John Michael Montgomery, Tim McGraw, Montgomery Gentry, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Moonshine Bandits, the Lac's, and many others.  In 2011 he was nominated with Jamey Johnson for the song 'Cold Beer' at the Academy of Music Awards.  Colt also cowrote the popular songs 'Dirt Road Anthem' by Jason Aldean, and 'Country Must Be Country Wide' by Brantley Gilbert.  'Chicken & Biscuits' and 'It's a Country Thang' are some of Colt Ford's hits.  He even has a song about Waffle House.  My favorite Colt Ford song is 'Cricket on a Line' with Rhett Akins.

Some people don't like his style of music, however Colt points out that it isn't something new.  In a recent interview he stated that it's no different from Hank Williams Sr's song 'Kaw-Liga', and music by other early artists such as Johnny Cash, Jerry Reed, and Charlie Daniels.

Last year Colt and a few of his friends raised $85,000 at a benefit show with all proceeds donated to families of police officers, where he performed 'Dirt Road Anthem' with Jason Aldean and Brantley Gilbert.  He has played in the Christmas 4 Kids concert along with several other artists, and many other benefits.  He also started an organization called Colt's kids, which benefits children's charities.

Last year Colt discussed a little about his family life and revealed that his wife has suffered the past few years from Morgellan's disease.  Unfortunately there is very little known about this disease, but research is being done in hopes to one day find a cure.  Colt is also the proud father of two children.

Colt plays over 150 shows a year.  I've seen Colt Ford in concert and he puts on an amazing performance.  He's down to earth and does a great job engaging his audience.  He's currently out on the Declaration of Independence tour, so check tour dates for a concert in your area.  You won't regret it!
