Healthy comfort foods for when you have your period

While having your period, one of the most important things for us woman, is comfort food. Piles of chocolate, bags of chips, and jars full of ice cream we ravish while having our ‘monthly discomfort’. 
But, we regret eating al these things when we step on the scale and see the number rising.

Well, here is the solution! A few tips for healthy and delicious comfort food and above all it is so easy to make! And you can get the supplies in every supermarket!

Strawberry's in chocolate dip

Fruit is a delicious and healthy snack,  in combination with chocolate it is even more delicious!
 What you need:
- Chocolate bar
You can choose white, milk or pure. Of course, the most healthy chocolate is the pure one.

The strawberry’s contain a lot of vitamine C, B1 and B2  and no saturated fat or calories! Besides that, a strawberry is full of calcium and iron. It also detoxifies your body!

Pure Chocolate is also healthy! Scientific research tells us that pure chocolate the blood pressure decreases. It is also a antioxidant.

How to make this delicious food:

Put a pan filled with water on your stove, turn the gas on medium heat. Take a heat-resistant  bowl and place it on your pan. Make sure it lies on top off the pan, and is not “swimming” in it. Than break the chosen chocolade in pieces and put them in the bowl. Make sure you have enough chocolate to dip the amount of strawberry’s in that you want. Meanwhile the chocolate is melting, you need to wash your strawberry’s in cold water (leave the crown on the strawberry, this is your handle while dipping) , and dry them with a paper towel. Now you need to stir the chocolate until it is completely melted. Then you can dip the strawberry In the chocolate, until the chocolate covers the strawberry, now lay them on a plate with aluminum foil on it, and put the plate in the freezer for 10 minutes. After that you can enjoy some lovely strawberry’s!

After washing your strawberry, don’t sprinkle them with any kind of sugar, because it will lump in the hot chocolate and then the chocolate won’t stick on your strawberry anymore.

The most easy, delicious and healthy dip sauces!

The second day of your period..  you need to eat, but you don’t want ’just chips’ anymore.. Here are 5 of the most easy to make dips to put your chips, toast or just your fingers in.

Tomato and avocado dip

What you need:
-4 tomato’s
- 1 avocado
- 1 red or green pepper
- a quarter of an onion
-2 table spoons of limejuice (1 lime)
-salt & black pepper
- a food processor

How to make this dip:
Put the tomato’s, avocado, the pepper, coriander, onion and limejuice until the ingredients are almost fully processed.  Then add a little bit of salt and black pepper (just how much you like) and your first dip is ready! Enjoy!

Avocado is one of the most healthy fruits, it also fits perfectly in a diet, because it sustains proteins, carbohydrates and unsaturated fats. Besides that it is a meal on its own, it sustains a lot of vitamine C. And ladies, be real, a lovely facial mask made of avocado makes our skin so soft!
A tomato is also a very healthy fruit. It sustains not only vitamin C, B1, B2 and B6, it is also full of nutrients that make us stronger against a lot of different bacteria.

Fresh cheese dip

What you need:
- a quarter cup of crème fraise
- a quarter cup of parmesan cheese
-a tablespoon full of grated lemon zest
-salt & black pepper

How to make this dip:
Mix the crème fraise with the parmesan cheese and lemon zest. Add the salt and pepper and your ready to eat!

Lemon is a very handy fruit, not just to eat, but also to white your nails when they are yellow from smoke, or nail polish, just dip your fingertips in a bowl of lemon juice and wait 10 minutes. Repeat this every day to make your nails white! You can also scrub your skin with lemon , when you had a oepsie moment with your bronzer, and you like a carrot now, it makes sure that your pores open, so you can moisturize your skin after with a lovely bodylotion. Just mix some lemon juice with some salt and scrub scrub scrub!

Yoghurt & curry dip

What you need:
-1,5 cup of Greek yoghurt
-1 teaspoon of curry powder
-1 table spoon of lime juice (half of lime)
-salt and black pepper

How to make this dip:
Mix the ingredients and put the mix in the fridge for an hour. Then your ready to dip away!

Sun dried tomato and feta dip.

What you need:
- 4 grams of crumbled feta
-1 cup of Greek yoghurt
-2 table spoons of olive oil
-8 sun dried tomatoes
-salt& black pepper

How to make this dip:
Mix the feta, Greek yoghurt and oil,  add the sun dried tomatoes and season the dip with some salt and pepper.

Roasted garlic dip with spring onion.

What you need:
-A blender
- aluminum foil
-1 clove of garlic
- olive oil
-8 grams of cream cheese
- a quarter of a cup of milk
-4 chopped spring onions
-salt and black pepper

How to make this dip:
Pre-heat the over on 200 degrees. Put the garlic on a piece of aluminum foil and drizzle the garlic with olive oil. Fold the aluminum foil until it is closed and put this “bag” with garlic for 40 minutes in the oven. Peel the garlic and put the cloves with the cream cheese in the blender, until it looks like a sauce. Mix the spring onion through and season it with some salt and pepper.
