Common Network Marketing Business Mistakes
In most network marketing businesses only a small percentage of people succeed. This is not new breaking news for anyone familiar with network marketing. I am writing this article to point out some common mistakes many people make in their network marketing business, and to offer some solutions for those who are frustrated or are looking at a new business opportunity for the first time.
When building a network marketing business, many people forget that they are running a business. It quickly becomes an effort to recruit as many as possible, as fast as possible. Expansion in any business is important, but if you were running a restaurant would you hire someone as a server or into management, if they hated people and had no professionalism? I realize that is a dumb question, but the majority of people who attempt to build a network marketing business do the equivalent. To take it a step further, some network marketing business owners will try to convince prospects to come work with them when that prospect has no interest, no time, and no money to invest up front. That's not exactly the best business model to go by, is it? So first things first when building your network marketing business you want to pursue prospects that have the interest, positive characteristics, time, and money that is necessary to be successful. So you know what type of person you are looking for, finding those people should be easy, right?
The reason that many people resort to pursuing unsuitable prospects in their network marketing business is that they do not know how to generate leads. In some cases well networked individuals will already have a high quality list of prospects available to them. This is not the case for the majority. When talking to friends and family there is no need to be pushy, if they are not suitable or interested in your network marketing business don't worry about it. Very few people build a big network marketing business only from calling friends and family. To build a big business you need to be able to constantly generate leads. Different strategies will work for different types of opportunities. Put together a marketing plan, maybe you will generate leads on the internet or through some type of advertisement. One of two things is going to happen, either your strategy will work or it won't. If it doesn't work, try something new.
So let's say that hypothetically you are able to bring some good people into your network marketing business. Don't forget about them! All too often network marketers get so pumped about attracting people into their business that in all of the excitement they forget to train them. Imagine starting a new job in a new line of work, and nobody showing you what you are supposed to do. You would become a human pylon, and you do not want human pylons in your network marketing business. If someone is going to commit time and money to a network marketing business based on your vision, you have taken on a big responsibility.
While these tips are very general I hope they can be helpful to you. I would love to get your feedback on this article, and hear about any positive or negative experiences you have had with any network marketing businesses.
