Consider A Refurbished Laptop For Your Next Purchase
Unless you find yourself in the enviable position where money is of no consequence and independently wealthy and cost comparisons are totally out of your mindset, you really ought to consider the information in this article. The purchase of a laptop computer is a major consideration. It represents a very necessary tool for many different people today. High school students, college students, grad students, researchers, salesmen, busy soccer moms, construction managers, artists, architects, engineers, etc. are people who find a laptop computer indispensable to their education, work, or just plain staying in touch.
The question then comes to whether to buy a squeaky clean new laptop that has not had all the 'bugs' worked out of its system or a factory inspected, faulty-parts-replaced, certified refurbished laptop that is ready and rarin' to go. Let's look at some factors to help us with the answer to that all-important question.
Reasons for a New Laptop
- The latest and greatest technology generally is more readily available with a new laptop computer.
- A new laptop will come with factory-installed software [most of the time] that is designed to work well with that particular computer system.
- Intrinsically you get what you pay for when buying a new computer. There is a great deal of difference in quality between buying new and refurbished. You are getting something that no one else has had the chance to handle.
- All the accessories that come with the new machine are new themselves, and are made specifically for that machine.
- You have the satisfaction knowing that you will buy something that is cosmetically perfect.
- Lower cost – period. For example, Apple offers a 15% to 20% difference in price for a refurbished laptop to a comparable new model.
- A machine that has been inspected twice – first time when it was returned to the factory for whatever reason, second time after all the faulty parts were replaced with new parts and the machine was checked out for the final time before being certified. Not all new machines have as thorough an inspection as a certified refurbished laptop.
- Less vulnerability to problems as a brand-new one is.
- Many times the machine is tagged as a refurbished one only because it was returned within the first thirty days of purchase. The owner may not have liked the color of the unit, or it may not have performed to his expectations, but generally it is a good machine and it now has definitely been proven (See second reason above).
