Console Tables

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

In the process of trying to find the perfect furniture for my new home I've had a good look at a wide range of console tables over the last few months. Obviously I didn't purchase every thing that took my fancy as I only have so much space and many of the ones that caught my eye wouldn't have fitted in with the decor in any of my rooms. If there is one thing I learnt early on it was that it doesn't make sense to try and fit the rest of your home interior around a table, it doesn't matter if we are talking about a console, coffee or end table, get something that will blend in with what you have already.

Also, remember when trying to make your decision that console tables should not stand out in the room where they are situated but should blend into the background and should only be noticed when they are needed. If you can get them to merge seamlessly with your existing furniture then you have make a good choice.

Here are a couple of my favorite console table designs which you may be able to find a space for in your own home.

The Simple Pine or Mission Console Table

If you live in a simple and contemporary styled apartment then take a look at the pine or mission console tables available in many Online shops. These pieces will fit in perfectly and will do the job intended at an affordable price, certainly much less than an equivalent cherry or marble console design. Having said that console tables do seem to be more expensive than you would think by looking at them, but with a little shopping around you will certainly be able to find something that won't break the bank.

The Tuscan Mirrored Console Table

The Tuscan Cream console table, like many things which links to Italy, is a favorite amongst ladies with an eye for style. Its a half moon design in cream color featuring floral details which should be hand painted. Traditionally it will only have one drawer but a console table is never doing to be used for mass storage and it will certainly be useful for holding some makeup or a set of keys if you use it in the hallway.

Match one of these with a classic Tuscan styled mirror and for a few hundred dollars you'll have added a touch of Mediterranean elegance to your hallway with minimal effort.
