If you know someone who wears glasses, you know that they can get contacts if they want to do. For some people, they have jobs where they are required to wear contacts instead of glasses. For example, a lifeguard will want to wear contacts instead of glasses. However, until about 30 years ago, only people with a prescription wore glasses or contacts. This all changed when color contacts came out on the market. All of a sudden, lots of people who have no vision problems were wearing contacts. This became a a new area in the fashion world completely.

Of course, not everyone is looking to make a fashion statement when they wear color contacts. Some people are just doing it to create a natural look. In the beginning, color contacts worked on your original eye color. This meant that some people had a lot of problems wearing them. This was especially true if your eyes were very dark colored. Today, this is no longer an issue. You can get contacts that will completely cover your old eye color. You can also have a variety of designs and logos printed on them directly. This allows you to do something strange and crazy. It allows you to advertise your favorite sports team or help you to market a product or brand name.

Purple color contacts are extremely popular. This is not only true for natural looking Elizabeth Taylor type violet eyes. This is also true for doing something wild and crazy. Purple is a very popular color for eyes and Japanese anime cartoons and other comic characters. If you're dressing up for a comic book convention or nightclub event, you may choose to get these types of color contacts. They can be worn several times unlike color contacts in the past. If you have very dark eyes, you might want the opaque kind of contacts. This way, the purple color stands out. Of course, if you want something more natural, you may want translucent or opaque contacts with realistic eye patterns and shapes printed on them.

Black contact lenses are also growing in popularity. They are obviously going to be opaque. You can have any logo, designed, or print placed on them. However, most people want them in a flat black color. This is due to the popularity of recent movies that have come out lately. In these movies, the vampires all have solid black colored eyes. Regardless of your choice in color, all color contacts must be a fitted to the individual user. This means that even if you don't have a vision problem, you will need to go to the eye doctor for a prescription before you order them online.
