Cookie Dough Recipe - Valentine Cookie Treat

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 2

Everybody loves a good cookie dough recipe, especially if they have children. A scrumptious Valentine cookie treat for some special little ones will make their day. What better time to treat them than Valentine's Day. They will really love it if you put on extra special twist on it and decorate it with style. Here is an idea that I think that you will like as much as the kids. First, you will need a good cookie dough recipe. Here is a basic Chocolate Chip recipe to start with that is pretty simple to make.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Recipe

2 sticks of butter

1/2 cup of brown sugar

3/4 cups of granulated sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon of baking soda

1 cup of Chocolate Chips

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and let it warm up while you are preparing the dough. Now that your oven is preheating and your ingredients are measured, it is time to start mixing your ingredients. You need to cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. You do this by using a mixer or a hand pastry blender. You will want to leave the butter out of the fridge for awhile so that it will soften. Do not melt it in the microwave because it will turn into liquid. Either way, hand blend or beat these ingredients together until they are fluffy in texture. When this is done you need to add in the eggs and butter and mix them well. Use a different bowl to blend the flour and baking soda together. After this is done slowly add it into the creamed butter mixture and pour in the cup of Chocolate Chips. Mix the ingredients as you go. Roll them out on the counter, but not to thin. Cut cookies out with a cookie cutter. Spray a muffin with some cooking spray and press each cookie down into them working your way almost to the top. Bake for 10 minute or until done. Remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly, but remove them while they are a little warm.

Fill each cookie with some strawberry ice cream (or whatever your children prefer) until the ice cream is peaking over the top of the muffin. Seal it with some hard shell chocolate coating, but before it completely hardens put a cherry on top.

You can use different ingredients for this Valentine Cookie treat such as Jell-O pudding. Any flavor will do. It is just a fun way to present a cookie to your child that they will think that you are the greatest. Comment and let me know if you have some other interesting suggestions for filler.

Great cookie dough recipe!! Kind of like chocolate chip filled tarts. (A marshmallow pressed down with a chocolate kiss). Just a though, the ideas could be endless. I'll have to experiment with this for sure. My Grands will probably have ideas too, they always do.
