Looking for copies of old high school yearbooks?  There are a lot of reasons that you might want to find an old yearbook.  Your old yearbooks may have been lost while moving, in a fire or other accident.  Or maybe you never purchased one originally and want to do so now.

Luckily, there are options for your search for an old yearbook.  None of them are guaranteed but they provide options for you to try before you consider the search over.  Here are the different options and how to pursue them:

Look up the number for your high school’s main office and give them a call.  Ask if they have any old yearbooks remaining as many schools order more than they need just so that they’ll have extras for a situation like this.  Who knows, you may get lucky!  Recently, however, schools have been doing less of this in order to save money so depending on how old of a yearbook you’re looking for you may be out of luck.

Old classmates are a possibility.  Check with them to see if they know of any extras or if you can have theirs.  This is probably unlikely but it’s worth a try if you’re desperate.

Another option is to contact the company that makes the yearbooks.  If you graduated in the last 10-15 years this may be a viable option for you as that is the timeframe when many companies started producing and storing their books digitally.  This makes it easy for them to reprint a book for you if they have it digitally.  This route will probably cost more than what the book did originally, but if you can get it you may be willing to pay.

I do know for a fact that Jostens can do this and they are the largest yearbook producer in the country so the odds are that your school uses them for their yearbooks.  Other smaller companies have followed suit with the digital transition so contact them if the above options don’t work out.

Probably the most unlikely option is to search somewhere like eBay or Craigslist.  Believe it or not, old yearbooks do turn up on there from time to time.  You actually have a better shot if you graduated longer ago as the older the books get the more nostalgic and desired they are.  This, of course, means they’re most likely going to be more expensive but if you can find your 35 year old yearbook on eBay you may buy it at any cost!

Hopefully one of the above options works out for you.  If not, you may be out of luck in your search for copies of old high school yearbooks.
