Cot Bed Duvet
Suppose that you have a friend or relative coming by to stay with you for a few days yet realize that you don't really have the space or an extra bed to accommodate your guest. You scoff at the thought of suggesting that your guest stay at a hotel even if you're helping to pay for the cost. But then, you remember that somewhere in your storage space you still have an old cot bed from your college days. It's not the best bed around but still usable.
So you've now pulled out the cot bed, set it up in a space that fits with your other home decor, but you don't really have any suitable bedding other than a ratty old blanket. The solution: a cot bed duvet. Perhaps you might be embarrased that all you have to offer your guest is a lumpy old cot to sleep on but a cot bed duvet might make the difference in making your guest feel more comfortable, not to mention appreciate the effort made to make something like a simple bed feel more comfortable.
There are really no duvets that are made specifically for an adult cot bed. In North America, duvets are made to conform to the specifications for the each of these bed types: King (or Cal-King), Queen, Full, and Twin. Because cots are generally made for a single person to sleep on, you best choice would be to buy a Twin sized duvet.
Why would you choose a duvet as a "solution" to an old blanket? Certainly, there are many types of bedding available such as cotton filled quilts and thick blankets, duvets have the advantage of offering maximum comfort that other types of bedding don't. For starters, you can use a duvet to cover you (regardless of the size of the bed) without having to use other kinds of bedding such as sheets for sleeping in comfort. Duvets can be used by themselves. This would simplify matters for you by not having to provide other bedding such as sheets. Next, duvets tend to be filled with natural fibers that can keep your guest warm and comfortable since air naturally circulates through the natural fibers.
Another nice feature about duvets is that they are easy to store and easy to keep clean. When buying a duvet, regardless of size, always be sure to buy a duvet cover to keep the surface of the duvet clean. About all you would need to clean be the cover itself which can be cleaned in a washine machine (unless there are specific instructions to dry clean).
Most importantly, your guest will remember the effort to take such as simple bed into something inviting to crash on.
