Couponing for preppers; how to prepare for doomsday on a budget

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

Couponing has grown to become a very popular hobby these days with economical challenges that many people are facing in today's world. If you are a prepper than you can use couponing as a way to save some money while you build up your stockpile of survival food and gear. Even if you are not prepping for the end of the world, couponing could be a powerful way to avoid wasting a considerable amount of money for the goods and services that you need and use everyday.

If you are a prepper new to couponing, here is the main method with how extreme couponers tend to save lots of money when they go shopping. The secret is to combine coupons with a stores weekly sales. In addition to that, they tend to do their homework and plan their shopping trip before they leave their house so that they can maximize their savings.

Start by making a price list of all stores that you shop at, or are located close to your house. Buy several Sunday newspapers and get the coupon section. You should also get any store vouchers that you might find in the newspapers. Look for any sales that the stores have and check your coupons to see if you have any that you can use.

Stores also have coupons and will allow you to stack them with the ones that you find in the Sunday newspapers. This is where the savings start to add up.  Another place to find coupons is the internet. There are several websites such as store and manufactures websites that will let you print them out with your printer. These generally have a expiration date around a week after printing them, so you have to use them quickly.

By doing these simple steps, people can buy lots of groceries and make a stockpile of food and supplies that can last for years for pennies on the dollar. As a prepper, this is a very useful skill that can help you build your supply while saving lots of money in these economical challenging times.

Another tactic that couponers use is to form groups and go at once. I do not recommend this though. As a prepper, you are preparing for a catastrophic scenario therefore keeping quiet about your prepping activities is essential. A lot of the couponers do not keep it a secret, in fact they will often brag to others about how much they are saving, and how much they have stockpiled.

Of course, once doomsday actually happens, everybody will know about their stockpile. Guess where the starving and desperate people will go for help when they run out of food and supplies? You guessed it, the couponers! This is the reason that preppers tend to keep quiet about the amount of supplies and food that they have stored up.

Couponing is as popular today as it ever was.  It's popular on the internet and it is popular on Television; you could have friends that are into this modern-day craze. It a skill that works well with prepping, and is sure to save you lots of money while you prepare.
