Creating Your Own Original Baby Shower Centerpieces

Baby shower centerpieces are the hub of the entire shower. This is where the gifts will placed around for the mother to be. You want it to be unique in that it is something everyone attending will see.

You could just go buy one, but the idea of making your own appeals to your artistic side. You have seen these in the store and online and you know you could make one with the right materials and a little time. The fact that you took the time to make it will not go unnoticed by the expectant mom or guests either.

The newest trend in baby shower centerpieces is the diaper cake. This is a two, three, or four tiered "cake" made entirely of disposable or cloth diapers. You should take the time before making one of these to find out what the new mother prefers so she will actually get some use from this.

These are very simple to make but you may want a little help depending on how big you are planning to make it. A second pair of hands to keep it round will help out during construction. Make sure the ribbon you use for this is not flimsy, you may want to tie it with string first and then put the ribbon over it.

Simply take a folded diaper and roll it up long way, resembling a rolled sock or cinnamon roll. Then take the next diaper and continue going around the first one, tuck in a few inches so they over lap each other. Do this until the roll is as large as you want it for whichever tier you are making.

This is where the second pair of hands comes in, they help keep the round shape while you tie it off. Making these in a few tiers then placing small gifts for mom and baby around on the levels makes for a very interesting looking baby shower centerpiece. These take very little time and look great.
