Creating a Home Theater System
Incorporating a Home Theater System into your home is a great way to enhance your television and movey watching experiences. A bowl of popcorn, friends or family and a great movie is what I call a fun night!
There are several components you will need in order to achieve the best television/movie watching experience in your new home theater system.
Things You Will Need
The first item on our Home Theater list will be a television. If you currently have a television that you feel will be just fine for your new home theater system that is great and will save you some money. If not, I recommend a high definition, 1080p television with a 120htz refresh rate. There are several makes and models available out in the market today. My experience has been to stick with the named brand models - I have had problems with the "off brand" televisions. The most important part of your home theater system will be the Surround Sound Receiver, sometimes referred to as the AV Receiver. It is the "guts" of your system. The video and audio from the television and dvd player will be distributed through the receiver and out to the speakers in the room. Hooking everything up through the receiver makes everything easier to use as well. AV Receivers vary in price and features so before going out to purchase one, make sure you do your research and decide what features are right for you. There is no need to overbuy.
The next item on your list will be a DVD or Blu-Ray Player. I would suggest a Blu-Ray Player in a new system, it will offer you the best audio and video to enhance your experience. Blu-Ray Players have come down in price considerable over the past year and can also play standard DVD's.
Last on the list, I highly recommend a Harmony Universal Remote. This one button remote can easily be programmed to run your system and WILL make using your home theater system much more enjoyable - they can be frustrating to use.
