Crooked Teeth
Having
shiny white teeth looks good and makes you feel good about yourself. When you have perfect teeth and you smile, you
are spreading your radiant vibe to your friends and loved ones, as opposed to
smiling with crooked teeth, which is an opening for much humiliation. But don't fret. Crooked teeth can be corrected, just like any
other dental problem. Just schedule an
appointment at the dentistry office and develop a habit of brushing daily with a
teeth whitening gel.
Crooked Teeth Pictures
For people who don't see the need to remedy crooked teeth, they should see photos of crooked canines found all over the internet. These snapshots clearly depict how displeasing the appearance of crooked teeth is. The bent and sometimes misshaped teeth look like jagged edges hanging inside the mouth, producing a sense of insecurity for some people. If your teeth are similar to the ones portrayed in those photos, don't fret. The dentist's office comes as your sure solution. Besides, there are many celebrities with crooked teeth, so why feel ashamed? Just remedy them as soon as possible.
Fixing Crooked Teeth
Fixing crooked teeth requires the dentist's help, since he or she has all the equipment to align your incisors in place. Doing it alone might cause more damage than benefits, so don't even attempt to bend or adjust a set of crooked front teeth. What you can do is to purchase the best teeth whitening gel and a toothbrush with firm bristles, and then use them regularly. They won't fix crooked teeth, but they can prevent another dental problem, which is the development of tooth decay. Personally, I can say whitening my teeth has lessened expenses upon visiting the dental office.
The Dental Procedure
Dentists
have all sorts of instruments built for remedying any type of tooth-related
disorder, which includes straightening crooked teeth. First, the dentist will clean your canines
using a mechanized tooth brush and specially formulated tooth gel. A needle like instrument will, then, be
applied on your teeth, for the removal of stains and dirt. It might hurt a bit, but you won't feel
anything really painful. When your teeth
have been cleaned, the dentist will drill your teeth to fit either braces or
retainers, which will straighten your teeth over time. Braces are used so your teeth will be
aligned, while retainers are fitted so your teeth won't stick up or down. The installation is quite painful, but
anesthesia will be administered, so the process won't be agonizing. Once the braces or retainers have been
fitted, you will have to wear them for a year or two, since the straightening
is gradual. Your reward for the ordeal
is a set
of perfect teeth.
The Emergency Dentist
If
you're in dire need of dental assistance, say you have a very painful toothache,
and you don't have a dental appointment, you can still avail of dental services
through a 24 hour emergency dentist. They are on
standby for emergency situations, particularly severe dental cases. Just like doctors on the emergency room,
emergency dentists are always ready to serve you if your dental problem must be
addressed, immediately. In the case
crooked teeth accompanied by a sharp pain, he or she will instantly remedy the
infection. You will be advised to take
antibiotics during the session. Right
after, you will then be scheduled for a dental appointment to straighten your
crooked teeth.
Reminders when Wearing Braces or Retainers
Wearing braces or retainers may be annoying at first, with the pain and the cleaning procedures through the ordeal:
· Clean Your Teeth and the Implements Regularly - Braces and retainers are metal wires attached to your teeth. Given the way they are implanted, they can store food scraps and bits, which can cause infections and tooth decay. You should brush your teeth as well as the implements after every meal and before going to bed, to eliminate the food particles. Don't forget to gargle with a potent mouthwash, since it can reach areas that can't be cleaned by your toothbrush.
· Avoid Sodas - Sodas are known to damage your teeth even worse than sweets. Since braces and retainers are fitted by drilling holes into your teeth, the carbonized beverage may loosen the connection of the implements. Fixing them is costly, time consuming, and even painful. So to avoid such discomfort, you might as well stick with water fruit juice for your meals.
· Consult Your Dentist at the First Sign of Distress - Sometimes when eating sticky, hard, and crunchy cuisines, the metal wires get damaged or misaligned. Once this happens, don't hesitate to visit your dentist. He or she will know what to do, as opposed to trying to remedy the situation, yourself. The implements will surely be fixed after the consultation. Don't forget to chew your food carefully after, else you might be heading back to the dentist's chair soon.
