Crows Feet: What They Are and How to Prevent Them

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

Crows feet are small wrinkles that appear in the area surrounding the eye. These wrinkles are the earliest ones to appear on a woman's face, unfortunately. Due to the inevitable fact of us aging, many people associate this type of wrinkle as growing old. They tend to expand and become deeper as we age, and there are some, especially women, who consider this to be an undesirable feature.

There are a number of products and services for crows feet treatment that reduce these wrinkles. From the name itself, these wrinkles sort of look like the foot of a crow planted on the surrounding area of the eye. At first they are small and then they begin to expand and become deeper with time till they appear when you aren't laughing or moving your face.

The number one cause for these unwanted lines and creases is too much exposure to sunlight. Other factors like smoking and facial motions can contribute to developing crows feet wrinkles. They tend to appear faster in people with irregular skincare regimens. Although there are several factors contributing to the development of these wrinkles, there are also a few suggestions for the prevention and treatment of it.

Avoid sun exposure, it is as simple as that. Applying sun block creams may be helpful if it really requires you to be exposed to the sun's rays. You can also use umbrellas; wear a fashionable hat or sunglasses. This simple step will actually stop you from squinting whenever you get exposed to the sunlight.

Another simple way to prevent and treat this is to live a healthy lifestyle. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. This will make your skin smoother and more elastic. Also drink a lot of water to help your skin to be hydrated at all times. Daily exercise will help eliminate stress and give you an overall sense of well being, thus minimizing the development of wrinkles on your skin.

There are plenty of skin regimens out in the market today that can eliminate wrinkles entirely. Just make sure to choose the best crows feet cream for you. Consult a doctor first or ask recommendations from friends, which have had firsthand experiences using certain types of skin regimens. A crows feet removal cream may not work even if it is expensive.

Research the skin regimens and see what works and what doesn't. You can also minimize its development by applying moisturizers on the surrounding area of the eyes. Eye creams, which contain glycolic acid or vitamin C, are the best for preventing these wrinkles from developing around your eyes.

You can also consider collagen injections, if you are the type of person who's not afraid to go under the doctor's needle. Collagen smooths out the skin around the eye. Results usually depend on your skin type. There are some who use Botox. This treatment slightly causes paralysis of the muscles of the eye. This type of treatment lasts for about three months. This is a risky procedure for the eye area and may not be worth it especially if something goes wrong. You wouldn't want your eyes to be paralyzed. There may be other procedures that can to a better job and not be so risky.

Laser resurfacing treatments can also be done to treat these unwanted creases surrounding the eye area. It will remove the outer layer of the skin, which will then create and make the skin look smoother and free from wrinkles. It can also remove age spots and other skin imperfections.

Other eastern medicines may be the procedure that may work for you to get rid of your crows feet. There are those who visit an acupuncturist for treatment. Clusters of small needles are placed into the skin around the eyes. As a benefit, this can reduce stress in the body. That would be worth trying it anyway.

There are a lot of treatments out there that can help you look as good as you are able to. Getting rid of your crows feet or at least lessening the appearance of them would be worth looking into and doing if you were concerned about looking older. There are so many options to choose from compared to 20 years ago.

There are also books on health that can show you how to help your body from the inside. There are even special diets that have been developed to help your skin look its best. It might save you a lot of time and money to look into it to see if that is really what you need to do. If these treatments won't work for you, you better see your doctor because they may know what the best treatment is for your wrinkles. After all, that's what they supposedly exist for.
