The Problem With Denture Adhesives:

If you are one of the millions of people who suffer from poor or loose fitting dentures, you are probably frustrated with the limitations your dentures impose.  Cushion grip denture adhesive may be the solution to your problems.  While you may have enjoyed eating difficult foods like steak, apples, chewy candies or even corn on the cob in the past, you probably now find yourself unable to enjoy such simple pleasures.  The problem with loose fitting dentures is sometimes the way they are made.  If it has been several years since you have visited a dentures dentist you mouth may be changing, and it is time for a new plate adjustment.  However, more often than not, you are experiencing gum pains, or the inconvenience of false teeth falling out, it’s because the denture adhesive you are using is not formulated to be as strong and comfortable as possible.  The fact is many products are not “adhesives” at all if they don’t stick to your gums properly.

Cushion Grip Thermoplastic Denture Adhesive:

One product that consistently gets great reviews from actual users is a product called Cushion Grip denture adhesive.  Rather than have a thin layer of denture adhesive that doesn’t actually grip to your gums, Cushion Grip adhesive is designed to put a tacky “cushion” in between your dentures and your gums.  Although it may feel bulky and uncomfortable at first, biting down moulds the Cushion Grip denture adhesive to the exact shape of your mouth.  Rather than have a poor denture adhesive make contact with your gums in only a few places, Cushion Grip conforms so that every inch of your dentures are making solid contact with your gums.

Not only is cushion grip denture adhesive more effective at keeping your loose fitting dentures more comfortably in place, but the solution lasts for days not hours.  That doesn’t mean you keep your dentures in your mouth for days.  No, Cushion Grip is able to be removed from your mouth daily so you can clean and soak your false teeth just like normal.  But, rather than put a new application of denture adhesive on every day, you can re-use the same cushion grip for 4 days in a row.  Some users actually claim that it holds its adhesive properties for 1-2 weeks.

Where To Buy Cushion Grip Denture Adhesive:

Cushion Grip denture adhesive used to be available at stores like WalMart, CVS, and Target.  However they have recently put more emphasis on their online website sales through websites like Drugstore.com and Amazon.com.  Although it is a little more hassle to order online, there is the benefit of a good amount of savings, as well as being able to buy in bulk and save even more.  You also don’t have to leave the house and your denture adhesive will be delivered right to your door.

How To Apply Cushion Grip Denture Adhesive:

Applying Cushion Grip denture adhesive is a little different than other false teeth adhesives.  Once you get used to the differences, you will appreciate how strong and comfortable the hold is, and you’ll never regret switching to a cushion grip denture adhesive.

Step 1 - Make sure your dentures are thoroughly cleaned and completely dry.

Step 2 - Put the tube of Cushion Grip Denture Adhesive into a glass of warm water to help make it easier to squeeze out of the tube.

Step 3 - Put 6-7 pea sized drops of Cushion Grip onto your dentures evenly spaced.  (Cushion Grip works great with both upper and lower dentures)

Step 4 - Put in your dentures and bite down firmly for a few seconds to allow a cushion to form to your gum line.  Wipe any excess adhesive away with a damp cloth.  (A slight burning sensation will be normal for 1-3 seconds)

Step 5 - To remove your false teeth at night, simply take them out and rinse/soak like normal.

Step 6 - Re-use your cushion grip denture adhesive for 4 days or more by simply biting down to reactivate the adhesive.

It’s important to remember to consult your dentist before changing any denture adhesive.  However, switching to a cushion grip denture adhesive will make your dentures fit better, hold stronger, and last longer.
