Cut Your Own Tree At A Christmas Tree Farm

By | 2 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

This year my wife and I went the extra mile when we searched online for a local Christmas tree farm to go to cut our own tree. We've been getting more and more in touch with saving money recently so we were a bit hesitant about going to a Christmas tree farm rather than a big box store for our tree. We thought initially that the Christmas tree farm would be quite a bit more expensive but we were OK with that as we felt the extra expense would be like spending money on entertainment rather than on a Christmas tree.

We were so wrong. In fact when we got to our local Christmas tree farm we found that the costs were actually a bit lower than they were at the store. It turns out that because you effectively cut out the middleman when you buy directly from the Christmas tree farm your costs drop considerably, and cutting our own tree made the savings even more significant. As it turns out we found out that if you go to the Christmas tree farm and cut your own tree you can save an additional five to ten dollars because the farm doesn't have to do the work themselves. We were very happy to say the least.

If you've never cut your own Christmas tree let me tell you you are in for an adventure. It's not quite like the Chevy Chase wilderness experience nor is it like running through a nice pergola design but it does feel really good. You and your family get to go out into the tree farm and select your favorite tree in its prime and untouched form. There's no guessing about what a tree will look like when it's cut out of the net; you're looking at it right there. Also you don't have to wonder how fresh the tree is because it is still in the ground when you choose it.

Lastly the adventure of simply cutting your Christmas tree down is an entertaining experience for most of us because let's face it, how many people these days have experience cutting down a tree. It's work and it's awkward yet it's a lot of fun to laugh and struggle together as a family. If you want to stage a memorable family event this Christmas season I definitely recommend finding a local Christmas tree farm and going to cut your own tree. It will save you money, give you a memorable experience, and make you feel safe knowing that your Christmas tree is as fresh as possible and more likely to last well past Christmas day. Cut your own tree this year; you won't regret it.
