Homemade Body Scrub
If you are anything like me your skin can resemble an alligator by the time winter is over and summer has begun! I tried super dry skin cream and all of the tricks to try and get rid of it, but the #1 thing that I found to work is to exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! I made this at home scrub just to try anything that would help. And much to my surprise it did! My scales disappeared and my skin was super soft and smooth. The best part of this scrub is that you can probaly walk down into your kitchen and whip this up right now!
1 c. Granulated Sugar
1/2 c. Olive oil
A Few drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
Mix all ingredients together. Store is a small jar and keep in your shower!
Amazing Hair Mask
Well if waking up thinking you have a bale of hay on your head instead of a luscious pile of locks then this treatment is for you! I like to blame my mother for always making me have a perm as a child that seemed to have sucked the life out of my hair. This treatment has given shine and less frizz to my hair in just the first treatment and has continued to get healthier as time went on. This mask uses coconut oil, which in my opinion is the best oil on the planet! I will be doing an article shortly regarding all of its uses.
3 tbsp. Coconut Oil
2 tbsp. Raw Honey (I use raw because it has many more benefits to it than regular)
3 tsp. Apple Cider Vinegar (Again, I use raw, unfiltered, for the same reasons)
Just put all ingredients into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for about 20 seconds or until the ingredients get soft and blend together. Apply all mixture to your head and place a shower cap on. This avoids it getting all over the place while you are waiting. Keep this mixture on for about 30 minutes. Wash hair as usual and bingo bango, smooth manageable hair!
Acne Face Mask
I have always had a battle with acne. Not a ton, but every once in a while I sprout a new pimple or two that drives me insane until they are gone! My friend told me about this remedy that I have tried and I was very impressed. There are two ways to use this...One: As a complete face mask and Two: As a spot treatment for a pesty zit. Either way once you make the mask do not reuse. This is a one time use mask since the fixings will lose their edge after a while. Not only does this keep my face clear, but I feel there is a kind of "glow" that comes along with doing this. I have loved it and try and do it about once or twice a month to keep the skin clear and clean.
Non Coated Aspirin
1 tsp. Raw Honey
Take about 4 aspirin (do not use more than 6) and put in a small bowl. Add a few tablespoons of water to it crushing the aspirin as you add the water. You just want enough water to create a nice paste like consistency. Add in your teaspoon of raw honey and mix well. Apply the mask to your face. Leave on for about 10 minutes and then wash off.
To use this as a spot treatment, just apply this to your acne ridden area and let sit for the same amount of time and then wash off.
