Danish Modern Chair Buyers Guide

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

Buying a new danish modern chair can be a frustrating time for consumers, simply because of the sheer amount of knockoffs on the market these days. If you aren't careful, you could end up purchasing a knockoff chair that comes with the price tag of a high quality reproduction. There are a few areas that you will want to take a look at before you spend any money, to ensure that you are indeed purchasing a high quality replica danish modern chair, and not some cheap factory made knockoff that is going to be in the garbage in 6 months. #1 - Shell The typical knockoff models that you will come across are going to use soft plastics inside of the chair for the shell. These plastics usually deteriorate very quickly, often times forcing you to replace the chair after a few short years. To prevent this, make sure that the shell of the chair you're considering buying is built from either composite plastics, or high quality fiberglass. #2 - Foam The foam inside of the chair used for cushioning is another area you should check before you purchase. Most knockoffs are going to use cheap, open cell foam that loses its shape and doesn't provide the same level of cushioning as a high quality polyurethane foam or similar material. High quality foams increase the price you're going to pay for the chair quite a bit. #3 - Fabric Another reason knockoff chairs are so much cheaper is because the fabrics that manufacturers use cost much less than that of a high quality reproduction. A high quality replica Danish chair is going to use heavy leather, or extremely durable cloth to ensure a long lasting design. The nylons and vinyls used in knockoffs end up tearing very quickly. #4 - Stitching Most high quality replica danish modern chair modelss are going to have hand stitched seams. Machine stitching is much cheaper to reproduce, which does save on the cost of the chair, but the stitches do not hold up as well as a hand stitched chair will.
