Decorate an Out of the Way Space with Curtains and Blinds

By | Aug 25, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

There are a few fun and interesting styles of curtains made for use as decorative accents. Among these you will find beaded curtains that are not usually intended for use on windows. These types of curtains are used to create a unique effect for an open doorway.

The new designs are available in some amazing and original styles. The most interesting design of beaded curtains are the beads that form an image or picture of a specific item. All of the colored beads are placed along the strings or cords, so that when the item is hung up they form an actual image. The picture they make can be a character or scenic landscape.

There are also many colorful beaded styles that are designed solely as room enhancers and don't form any type of artistic image. You will also see many crystal styles made of clear crystals. Most colored designs are made of acrylic beads so they won't become damaged with use. These are great items to use in an additional living space created for a house such as a basement or attic area that has been fixed up. They can also be placed along a low ceiling to create a partition between areas in one large room.

Another area that can use unique window treatments is an enclosed sun porch. A porch can be easily enhanced with the use of some cheap roman blinds that come in assorted colors. This is an easy way to add a touch of elegance to a four season room that has a furniture group placed in it. The blinds give you the option of shutting off a portion of the incoming light so you can relax and read a book, while enjoying the view of nature around you. Choosing a style of curtains, panels or drapes, can make those additional home areas more functional as living spaces.

The roman style of blinds can also be used to enhance a family room or den. When used in combination with drapes or long curtain panels they help create a designer look. The roman design usually has sections in the shade or blind that create a scalloped look on the bottom hem area when the blinds are pulled up. This decorative edging is what creates the added elegance to a plain looking window area. All of the curtains and blinds are available in widths and lengths to match the door or window you want to enhance.
