The main problem with voltage lighting is that you have to connect the lights to a power source and use wires to connect them. many people don't like to work with wires and electricity and that is a reason why they choose for solar lighting instead.

Solar lights are very easy to use because there is no wiring involved. All you need to do is put your lights in place and face the solar collector to the sun in order to make them work. The main problem is still that they are not as reliable as voltage lighting and they are less bright when you compare it to voltage lighting. For this reason they are primary used as accent lighting. But if your garden or patio receives enough sun than you can also use them for other purposes like driveway lighting or walkway lighting.
