Decorating With Black Vertical Blinds

Without a doubt black vertical blinds can look great. They can certainly make a statement when hung in windows, and they are not something that can be ignored nor overlooked, thus care must be used when you decorate with them.

The main thing to find out before you hang blinds, is whether black vertical blinds will actually look great hanging in your windows. There is no real easy way to tell, however one tip that some people have used is to take some black fabric and drape it in the window to see how it looks. If you don't have any black fabric, you could at least put up some black paper and see how the room appears with that at the window. While it may not show you exactly how black vertical blinds will look, at least you'll get some idea whether black blinds will be suit your room decor.

You also have to decide if you're going to hang black blinds in every window in the room or if you want to alternate the color choices somewhat.

Here are some other combinations you could try:

Alternate black and white blinds around the room
Use a black and gray color combination
Hang one black blind in the main window and then put white blinds with some sort of black pattern on them in the other windows
Try other color combinations such as black and burgundy, or black and dark green
Add some colored window film on the window behind the blinds, for an interesting effect

If you're not sure exactly what to do with black vertical blinds, you should check out some different home décor magazines or even online sites to see how others have used black blinds when decorating.

Of course black blinds, even discount vertical blinds, look best in a room that features a more modern monochrome type of décor. Rooms decorated in this way can look stunning, however you do need to try to add some color here and there to brighten things up, otherwise it can look quite drab and dull. For example place some colored rugs on the floor, and add some colored throw cushions on the couch. You may also want to add colored decorations around the room such as a brightly colored vase, or some colorful wall hangings.

When buying black vertical blinds you will find the choices are fabric, vinyl, or aluminum. I feel that either fabric or vinyl blinds look better as the aluminum blinds can be a little harsh, whereas the fabric or vinyl blinds tend to have a softer look to them.
