Defining Burglar Alarm Systems

By | 0 Comments | Rating: 0 | |

There are a lot of burglar alarm systems out there. As such, it helps to know what type of systems there are. A burglar alarm system can generally be separated into 3 levels:

Level 1: These burglar alarms are exactly what their name implies. They'll cost you about $5-$20 per door or window and emit a loud siren when an intruder tries to come into your house. A lot of people are fine with having just these type of systems because a siren is enough to scare off thieves.

Level 2: A lot of people get these systems because they don't want to have to pay the monthly fees to their security company. These are usually wireless systems, which call your family, friends, neighbors, and/or yourself in the event of a break in.

Level 3: These burglar alarm systems are the ones, which you can buy from companies such as ADT. They'll cost you about $300 for the installation and an additional $30 per month for the service. Once the alarm sounds the security company will call you to make sure that everything is okay. The police will come if the person answering the phone does not know the security identification number or if nobody answers the phone.

The main advantage with a Level 3 type burglar alarm system is that police will definitely come if nobody is in your house. If you have a Level 2 type system, whether or not emergency services are called depends on how well the people on your auto-dial list respond. Level 3 type systems are also recommended if you have a big house.
