Depression and its battles

Depression has its battles. Millions of people are effected by depression. Depression has become known as a chronic illness. Depression symptoms can lead to severe and life threatening conditions. A lot of times depression treatment is recommended under medical experts, if the condition becomes severe and effect your lifestyle. You don't have to fight depression alone, and I think a lot of people try to. You feel alone, and everything can feel dark when you're depressed.

Everyone has been depressed, at least once in their life. There are many different types of depression. From manic depression, seasonal depression, to bipolar disorder. Causes of depression can be quite a few different things. There's usually not one cause, or reason that causes severe cases of depression. Different things can contribute to one feeling depressed. Some are more prone to depression than others. Just like some people are more prone to rage and anger. Sometimes it's genetic, and other times events in ones life lead to depression.

Speaking of rage, that can be one of many symptoms of depression. Depression symptoms range from sadness, sad feelings for no logical reason, lack of sleep, anxiety, stress, difficult to concentrate, lack of confident and hope, severe boredom, thoughts of suicide, constant fear for no real reason, fear for specific reasons, and loss of interest in majority of activities.


Depression hits a lot of different ways. A lot of times its triggered with sadness. It's true, one who is depressed tends to be sad. However, sadness is not the only feeling. They can have a change in moods quite easily, without common reasoning being the case. They can go from one extreme, to another one fast. A lot of different emotions can play apart in depression. Depression can effect ones mental aspect, so they can even become delusional at times. They can make irrational decisions, more severe in cases of bipolar disorders.

Routines play a part in depression. Also environment contributes to depression. If you're involved in a stressful jobs, or lifestyle, that obviously will effect your outlook on things. The positions and things you take apart in, can effect your life mentally. I mean, if you find there's no real joy or happiness in your life, how are you anything but depressed? Depression isn't simply always linked to your routines, and environment. Sometimes it can't always simply be explain why you're depressed, however, don't think routines and environment doesn't contribute to depression. Severe boredom and can contribute to lack of enthusiasm. Which can lead to lack of hope.

Trauma events in someone's life can cause depression. You've probably been familiar with post-traumatic depression? That's a typical form where someone has experience a life-threatening, or terrifying event. Being involved in something like that causes intense fear, which can be linked to depression. Depression is clearly motivated by fear. Those who develop enough fears and phobia, become prone to depression.

Even the foods we eat contribute to depression. A lot of foods effect our moods and promote brain health. Why wouldn't food contribute to our moods? The brain is made up of 60% of fats. So your brain feeds on fats in our diet. Good fats that the brain requires are DHA, found in omega-3 fatty acids. Polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats provide the brain with proper function as well.

Battling depression takes not just seeking medical treatment, but a commitment from oneself. You got to fight to beat it. How do you fight depression? You do it by embracing in change. You do it with by embracing challenges to face your fears. It's not easy battling depression. It can flat out feel impossible. However, the easiest part about depression is finding support. Support from loved ones close to you. Support from a depression support group. Those who can share in your experiences. Those who can share love, generosity, and understanding you condition.

Because you may feel alone when you're depressed, but you're not alone. There are a lot of people out there who've experienced what you have. You can build relationships and learn new ways to cope with this illness. Depression can be treated and managed. You can still live a happy life by wanting to have the will to change the bad in your life. Like all things in life. If you want it and fight for it enough, usually you'll end up getting it. Lean on another's shoulder when battling depression. Find something meaningful that you have to offer as well.
