Detoxing The Body - Why And How?

By Edited Dec 18, 2013 0 1

One of the most popular diets that people are getting into these days is the detox or cleansing diet. This makes perfect sense if you think about it. You see, these detox programs are based on the idea that our bodies are constantly being exposed to dangerous toxins and poisons. Said toxins are found in our food, our air and our water. Think about all the junk that we consume on a day to day basis. The saturated fats, the alcohol, the caffeine. All these are forms of poison and just aren't good for the body! Even the air that we breath is filled with smoke and pollution. These body toxins effect us in many different ways. We become moody, tired and sometimes even physically ill as a result of this body pollution. So what are the benefits of detoxing the body?

Well, there are several. When it comes right down to it though, you embark on one of these programs to give yourself a healthier life. Cleansing works as well. Many patients experience less aches and pains and a fresher mind post detox. Think about how much better the earth would be if there wasn't pollution. The lakes would be fresh and the mountains would be green. Well, detoxing the body naturally can bring your entire being back to a state of freshness.

So How Should One Go About Detoxing The Body?

There are many different ways to cleanse the digestive system and start fresh. I find that the best way to do it is naturally! There is something weird about taking pills and chemicals to feel detoxed... Here's an easy natural detox that you can try. There are no products to buy or clubs to join. All you have to do is give up a few things and start doing a few others. There are a couple foods that many of us enjoy that pollute our colons and digestive systems horribly. Caffeine is a big one for many people. If you can replace your cup of coffee with a cup of green tea, you'll be well on your way to a detoxed life. You should also give up smoking, drinking and eating saturated fats. Cigarettes and alcohol, in particular, are a definite no-no if you are looking to cleanse the body. As far as things you should be eating, here you go. There are really no surprises here. Eat a lot of natural foods. Fruits and vegetables are great. You'll also need plenty of water in your diet if you are trying to detox. Most cleansing diets recommend drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. On top of these natural goodies, you should also consider taking some vitamins and herbal supplements. Q10, Choline and antioxidants are the most common used in cleansing programs.

A little disclaimer to finish this article off. I'm not a health care professional. If you are interested in detoxing the body with a cleansing diet, you should do a lot of research first. If you have any questions, contact your doctor. Good luck!
