Why It's Different
There are a few things that are unique about this bow. Let's start with the aluminium riser (one piece), then the one piece solid glass limbs with parallel design, which fit into aluminium limb pockets for a tight fit. These details are important because the bow functions using a single cam and idler wheel mechanism with patented Throttle cam- with the bearing assembly of the system in the ends of the limbs.
This basically eliminates creep, as equal tension can be got on both the string and cables. You're getting a draw weight range of between forty and seventy pounds, and a draw length range of between 26.5 and 30.5 inches. Draw length is easily adjusted by removing the module screws, rotating the module and retightening the screws again. The 80% effective let off will mean that you can easily keep the bow at full draw extension without straining yourself.
All these things make the Diamond Outlaw both fairly unique and a very flexible bow, suitable for many different kinds of users, a big plus.
The Convenient Option
Another big selling point of this bow model is what's marketed as R.A.K. This stands for Ready, Aim, Kill and basically means that the bow is set up and ready to go out of the box. You get everything included to use your new bow successfully, all you need to do is tune up to your needs and you're ready to go. If you're looking for something easy to use out of the box, then the Diamond Outlaw is a clear choice.
No bow is going to be perfect for every customer, and the Diamond Outlaw certainly has a couple of issues that we were concerned about, though these seem relatively fixable. The one piece grip is slightly susceptible to hand torque- though this is more of a problem for some users than others, depending on the strength of your grip.
The second concern is that though this bow is quiet when shot, there's a certain amount of vibe and hand shock. This, however, is easily fixed with a vibration dampening stabiliser and some limb savers.
Finally, some customers have reported low quality bow string on this model. This, of course, is simple to fix, since you can replace the string with a spare of your own choosing. String replacement on this model is simple and fast.
If you're in the market for something good quality and affordable, then this magnificent bow is a strong contender. The variety of setting options it has makes this a great versatile bow for many different users, and that R.A.K. package means that you'll be ready to go straight out of the box. There are a couple of downsides to this model, but really nothing that isn't fixable if you're willing to buy a couple of accessories. All in all, the Diamond Outlaw is a solid choice for novice bowmen and more experienced users too.
