By Edited Feb 13, 2016 2 3

What is Vinegar?
Vinegar is a liquid produced from the fermentation of ethanol in a process that yields its key ingredient, acetic acid. Ninety percent of American Households buy vinegar. The 4 major uses are for salads, as cooking ingredients, pickling and home canning but did you know Vinegar can be used for a hundreds of things?
It is good to keep in the house, it is just not for recipes or a salad topper anymore.

Quick Simple Facts:

A cup of Heinz Apple Cider has 34 calories, no fat, 1.4mg of iron, and 240mg of potassium. Differences between white and apple cider vinegar is that white vinegar is made from acetous fermentation of alcohol and apple cider vinegar is made from cider or apple must.

Wine Vinegar generally made from wine, examples as follows
Wine vinegar is made from red or white wine. As with wine, there is a considerable range in quality. Wine vinegar tends to have a lower acidity than that of white or cider vinegars. There are more expensive wine vinegars made from individual varieties of wine, such as Champagne, Sherry, or pinot grigio.

Other then types listed above there is quite a bunch more but I am not going to list those tonight, I will do a part 2 of Vinegar later this week.

Anyway on to our uses!

First and Formost, a recipe for a salad dressing or sub topper sauce.

Simple and satisfying!

1/3 c. Regina red wine vinegar
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. oil
1 tsp. basil

Dissolve sugar in vinegar. Add oil and basil and stir well.

Notice though, for this recipe above we are using Red Wine Vinegar, for the things below, we will use plain old white vinegar, the same kind you use for coloring Easter Eggs. <- Look use number 2~

Use number 3- Plain White Vinegar is good to clean small appliances like irons, coffee pots and even a washing machine. It gets all lime desposits and soap sludge off quickly and easily.

Another use which is use number 4, Vinegar cleans rust from tools and, screws, nuts and bolts.

Use number 5 is that Vinegar removes water spots and stains off dishes and glasses, so instead of throwing out your fine dining wear and wine glasses, give them a soak in some Vinegar.

Number 6, Vinegar takes away various oders found in your kitchen, run it through your garbage disposal, wash your tupperware or plastic dishes and cookie jars. They will be smelling fresh and as good as new.

Now on to some health and first aide type uses.

Number 7 If by chance you get stung by a Jellyfish, it is said that Vinegar will help ease the itch and pain.. Is this true? I don't know, I have never been stung by one and do not plan on it.

Number 8 - This one I know works, living in Florida I have had my share of way to much sun and got burnt badly, so have my kids, we used Vinegar to take away the sting and soreness. useally after we put on plain white cotten t-shirts.. soft ones.

This is a very short list of uses for a household product everyone has.
I know for me personally I use Vinegar as a health benefit, a small drink of vinegar straight cleanes the acid from my body, it also reduces my high blood suger some what, Usually I feel alittle better after drinking it once a week, I just can't make it a daily habit because sometimes the taste is hard to swallow
