Select a digital camera binocular where the camera that is there has a resolution greater than 1 Mega pixel (MP). The picture quality of the cameras with less than 1MP is not good though they may be relatively inexpensive.

Always check the internal memory of the camera. In most cases the internal memory of the digital camera binoculars is not huge. Most of the binoculars can hold at most about 50 to 80 pictures depending on the resolution. That leads to my next point that for capturing more pictures it is better to select the binoculars which have the SD slot. If there is no SD slot then you will have to use a USB cable to transfer the pictures to the PC using a driver and that can be a very cumbersome.

It is better to get the binoculars which have the instant replay capability. Always check as to how many seconds worth of footage can be stored and replayed. This is needed especially if you are a birding enthusiast and need to see how accurately you have captured the nuances of the moving bird. The LCD screen on which you will replay should have good resolution.

Most of the times you will be using the tripod to hold the binoculars. Make sure that you check the tripod adaptability of the digital camera binoculars. Most of them do not have this capability. This is very essential for the hunting and the birding people though not as much of a requirement for the sporting enthusiasts
