Disney's BoardWalk Resort at Walt Disney World

Disney's BoardWalk Resort, or more commonly known as Disney's BoardWalk Inn, located in Orlando, Florida, is a deluxe resort in Walt Disney World with two parts, one is the BoardWalk Inn with over 375 rooms, and the other is the BoardWalk Villas, a Disney Vacation Club Resort, with over 550 rooms. The resort is centrally located between the Epcot theme park and Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park on the 25 acre Crescent Lake.

HOTEL and ROOMS

Disney's BoardWalk Inn is themed after the elegance of Atlantic City in the 1940's, along with the Coney Island style of boardwalk, with its main feature of course being the boardwalk. The Inn's entrance brings guests back in time with decor reminiscent of the old style Atlantic beach front hotels. Each room is lavishly appointed with tasteful decorations with warm and inviting colors throughout, and each room comes with an enclosed patio or enclosed private balcony. The rooms also have internet access (for a fee), coffeemaker, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, in room wall safe, televisions with satellite t.v., and a dvd player or dvd/vcr combo player, as well as laundry services available, and of course room service. The resort also offers plenty of parking and valet parking is available to all guests.


AMENITIES

The resort offers plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, or even for that special occassion for you and your loved one. There are three pools in which to choose from, such as two nice and quiet pools, or the always busy and popular Luna Park themed pool, with a 200 foot long Keister Coaster waterslide that everyone will enjoy. A snack bar is also present at the pools, as well as plenty of towels. The Luna Park pool is only available to guests staying at the BoardWalk Inn or BoardWalk Villas.

The other recreational activities that are available at the BoardWalk Inn are fishing, tennis courts, bike rentals, a jogging trail, fitness center, an arcade, watercraft rentals, the Harbour Club activity center for children ages 4-12 and is open from 4:30pm to Midnight daily, and is great when you want to have some time alone while the kids have fun, babysitting services are available, and the Community Hall that offers plenty of fun with board games, arts and crafts, and much more.

As with all Disney resorts there is tremendous accommodations for individuals with disabilities, from the parking to wheelchair accessible rooms and bathrooms, and a whole lot more.

DINING and ENTERTAINMENT

The main feature of the BoardWalk Inn is the boardwalk itself, and it does not disappoint, as it offers guests and visitors a whole host of choices for dining, entertainment, and shopping.

The dining choices include the Big River Grille and Brewing Works (offers American cuisine and specialty beers, as well as it has its own microbrewery, the only one at WDW), The Flying Fish Cafe (a great seafood restaurant), the ESPN Club (American cuisine set in a sports themed restaurant with over 100 televisions to watch your favorite sports on),the BoardWalk Bakery (offers cakes, pies, and a whole lot more every day), Kouzzina by Cat Cora (a Greek restaurant), a pizza window (offering slices of pizza pie), The Belle Vue Lounge (offers coffee and pastries in the morning, and a bar for the evening), and Seashore Sweets (offers fudge and saltwater taffy, as well as many other confections).

The entertainment choices include the many games and entertainment on the boardwalk, as well as the enjoyable nightlife available that include Atlantic Dance Hall (a classic dance hall that plays music from the 80's, 90's, and now), and Jellyrolls (a dueling piano bar that is a blast to see and hear).

SHOPPING

The shopping includes the ESPN Yard at the ESPN Club (offers ESPN logo merchandise), Dundy's  Sundries Shop (located in the hotels main lobby area that offers basic sundries and resort merchandise), the Screen Door General Store (a store that offers a little bit of everything, from chips and sodas, to cereal and milk, much like a small town grocery store), Wayland Galleries (offers artwork for sale), Disney's Character Carnival (offers Disney merchandise), Thimbles and Threads (offers Disney merchandise and resort merchandise).

PAVILLION

The BoardWalk also offers a nice sized pavillion located on Crescent Lake that is great for small to medium sized intimate weddings, as well as small to medium sized parties.

TRANSPORTATION

The BoardWalk Inn offers guests several transportation methods, from boats, buses, and the monorail. Guests can take a short walk to Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios, or travel by boat. You can also access the monorail by going through Epcot if you are a season pass holder or an all day park hopper ticket holder. The monorail can take guests to the Disney Transportation and Ticket Center, as well as the Magic Kingdom theme park. Guests can also take a bus (located at the front of the resort) to the Magic Kingdom theme park, Animal Kingdom theme park, Downtown Disney, Disney's Water Parks, and Disney's Wide World of Sports. the boats can also take guests to the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, as well as the Swan and Dolphin Resorts.

CONFERENCE AND MEETING CENTER

There is a 20,000 square foot conference and meeting center that can accommodate business meetings, graduations, wedding receptions, or a huge family reunion or party. The conference center also has a business center that is available to all guests staying at the resort and offers fax, internet access (for a fee), computer services, and more.

All Disney's Deluxe Resorts offer the ultimate in luxury hotel accommodations at Walt Disney World, that gives guests close proximity to any of the four theme parks, from lavishly appointed rooms, premier dining and shopping, as well as other activities, from golfing to tennis, and just about everything else that you can think of. So when you are thinking of visiting Walt Disney World, you might want to consider staying at one of the deluxe resorts for the a vacation that you will want to always remember. Although the prices can be a little high, you do get what you pay for during your stay, and that is the ultimate Walt Disney World experience.
