Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort at Walt Disney World

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, located in Orlando, Florida, is a 2,100 plus room moderate resort in Walt Disney World and is located near the Epcot theme park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, as well as Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park The entire resort is set against a glimmering 45 acre lake, called Barefoot Bay.
HOTEL and ROOMS
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is the largest of all the resorts at Walt Disney World and is themed after the look and feel of a Caribbean beachside resort sitting on over 200 tropical landscaped acres set among 6 villages surrounding the pristine white sand beaches of Barefoot Bay. The villages consist of small 2 story pastel colored buildings and the names of the villages are named after an island in the Caribbean, such as Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad North and Trinidad South. Each village has its own heated swimming pool for a guests ease of accessibility and use.
The Caribbean Beach Resort consists of over 2,100 nicely appointed rooms with bright welcoming colors and prints that are in the spirit of the laid back Caribbean life, and there are different theming motifs for the rooms in each village that are sure to please adults and children alike, from a Pirate theme to a Caribbean theme, and even a Finding Nemo theme. The resorts main lobby, called the Custom House, is designed in the form of a tropical pavillion, and includes registration and guest services for the entire resort, is situated apart from the resorts villages, and is accessible by either car, resort shuttle service, or by walking (only if you are close enough to the Custom House, other than that, use the resorts shuttle service as most rooms are a distance from the Custom House and Old Port Royale, as Old Port Royale is the location of dining and shopping).
All rooms at the Caribbean Beach Resort have internet access (for a fee), television with satellite t.v., in room safe, hairdryer, iron with ironing board, coffee maker, and more.
There are several amenities at the resort that include laundry facilities, a concierge desk (2 locations, the Custom House and Old Port Royale), babysitting services, self parking, and plenty of accommodations for individuals with disabilities, from handicap parking spaces to wheelchair accessible rooms and bathrooms.
AMENITIES
For guests looking to enjoy some recreational activities at the resort there are some great activities from which to choose from, such as bike rentals, jogging trail, an arcade, white sand beaches (great for fun, relaxing, and getting in some of the much needed sunbathing), volleyball, playgrounds (1 located at Parrot Cay Island, which is a 1 acre island in the middle of Barefoot Bay Lake accessible by a footbridge, and 3 more located at Barbados, Jamaica, and Trinidad). There are plenty of watercraft rentals, from canoes to pontoon boats, and pedal boats to sailboats to enjoy the pristine waters of Barefoot Bay Lake. And for those wanting to take a dip in the pool, there are 6 heated pools to choose from. The popular main pool is at Old Port Royale, and and is themed after a old Spanish colonial fort that offers swimmers a zero entry, 2 water slides, 2 hot tubs, along with a children's water play area with 3 water slides and other fun stuff.
DINING
When you get hungry the resort has its own food court located at Old Port Royale and is designed in the form of a Caribbean market, offering 5 fast served food outlets, such as Bridgetown Broiler, serving American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Grab 'n' Go Market, serving American cuisine for breakfast, and other light bites throughout the day, Montego's Deli, serving American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Old Port Royale Hamburger Shop, serving American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Royale Pizza & Pasta Shop, serving American-Italian cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The 5 food outlets serve a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, such as omelets, pancakes, waffles, pastries, burgers, pizza, a variety of sandwiches, pasta, roasted chicken, and of course coffee, milk, juices, water, soda, and more.
If you would like a more casual setting when you dine, then Shutter's at Old Port Royale is a great choice for dinner that is reasonably priced, offering American-Caribbean cuisine dishes, such as Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Pineapple-Marinated Chicken, Smoked Ribs, and more. There is also a nice selection of desserts to choose from, as well as a large assortment of adult beverages.
SHOPPING
There are some quick shopping choices located at Old Port Royale offering Disney and resort merchandise, as well as light snacks and drinks.
PARKING and TRANSPORTATION
There is plenty of self parking for guests, and for guests with disabilities as well. If you plan on eating at the resort, going to any of the swimming pools, wanting to enjoy some of the recreational activities at the resort, then it is recommended to use the resorts shuttle service for the resorts amenities, unless you are within walking distance of the Old Port Royale and Custom House.
The resort is located within a short bus ride to the Epcot theme park, Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park, and Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. While it is a short bus ride from the resort to these locations, the buses make several stops throughout this large resort to drop off and pick up guests all day, so the bus service is rather quick. The buses are clearly marked with their respective destinations to all theme parks, Downtown Disney, Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports, water parks, and Disney's Transportation and Ticket Center all make stops at the resort throughout the day.
Disney's moderate resorts offer guests wonderful accommodations, plenty of recreational activities, great pricing, great locations, along with an assortment of amenities that will satisfy any guest, and the best part is, it is all inside of Walt Disney World. If you have a large group or large family, and on a tight budget, then a Disney moderate resort is a great choice for those wanting the best that Disney has to offer, from great service, great prices, and excellent locations.
