Disney's Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World

Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort, located in Orlando, Florida, is a 727 room deluxe resort at Walt Disney World on the 450 acre Bay Lake, and is only a short bus ride to the Magic Kingdom theme park, or the Disney Transportation and Ticket Center where you can be whisked away by monorail to the Epcot or Magic Kingdsom theme parks , or you can take a bus at the Disney Transportation and Ticket Center to the other two theme parks, Disney's Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom, Disney's Water Parks, Downtown Disney, or any of the other resorts located at Walt Disney World.
HOTEL and ROOMS
Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort is themed after the rustic grand lodges of the old Pacific Northwest at the turn of the 20th Century, offering guests a glimpse of early American explorers, as well as the many Native American cultures that existed during that time period. From the moment you enter the Wilderness Lodge you are immediately taken back to an era long gone, with a 7 story grand lobby that features an 82 foot tall fireplace, that is perfect for relaxing in one of the many rocking chairs surrounding the fireplace. You can view the pool and geyser through the many expansive windows that look out onto the grounds and Bay Lake beyond from the lobby, as well as two 55 foot tall totem poles that feature an eagle on one and a raven on the other.
The Wilderness Lodge consists of 727 rooms, and each room is designed to feature the many American styling motifs of the Pacific Northwest along with several Native American elements that helped to influence the grandeur of this stunning resort. Since the resort if tucked away among several hardwoods it gives guests a feeling of being far away, yet they are right in the middle of everything that Walt Disney World has to offer. All rooms have balconys or patios to allow guests to relax from a busy day at Walt Disney World.
All rooms at the Wilderness Lodge have internet access (for a fee), coffeemakers, irons with ironing boards, in room wall safe, dvd player (in some rooms), hairdryer, televisions with satellite t.v., and alarm clock with cd player.
AMENITIES
There are several amenties at the resort that include a fitness center, room service, a supervised children's activity center, called The Cub's Den (is open from 4:30-Midnight daily, and is perfect for those that want to spend the night out on the town without the kids), laundry facilities, an ATM machine, as well as plenty of accommodations for individuals with disabilities that include wheelchair accessible rooms, bathrooms, ramps and elevators.
For those seeking to get out of their rooms and have some recreational fun outside of the theme parks, there is a bevy of choices that guests can choose from, such as bike rentals, watercraft rentals, an arcade, video rentals are available, Chip'n Dales Campfire Sing-a-long, a playground, fishing, jogging, Movie Under the Stars, and two pools,one called the Silver Creek Springs pool that has a water slide and hot tub, and the second pool is Hidden Springs, that includes a hot tub, and are available only to guests staying at the Wilderness Lodge resort, with plenty of towels available for guests. There are several trained lifeguards on duty for your convenience and safety. Located at the pools are two snack bars, one offers snacks and drinks, while the other offers adult drinks and snacks.
Guests can walk through the lobby, with the bubbling springs that exit out into to the pool, and from the pool to the Fire Rock Geyser, that shoots a plume of water 120 feet into the air every few minutes.
DINING
If you are hungry, there are a couple of restaurants to choose from. They include the Whispering
Canyon Cafe, a great all-you-can-eat family style barbecue buffet, the Roaring Fork, which serves
breakfast and other snacks, Territory Lounge, which serves adult guests wines and appetizers, and of course, Artist Point, one of the best restaurants in all of Walt Disney World, offering American classic Pacific Northwest style cuisine in the likes of seafood and sirloin dishes, along with other meaty dishes to choose from.
TRANSPORTATION
For transportation to the Magic Kingdom theme park, or any of the resorts located on Bay Lake, guests can take a picturesque and relaxing water taxi, or guests can take a bus ride to any of the theme parks, through the Disney Transportation and Ticket Center guests and visitors can go to any resort, Downtown Disney, Disney Water Parks, or Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the home of MLB Atlanta Braves Spring Training, as well as many other sports related activities, such as marathons and cheerleading competitions.
There is so much to do at the Disney Wilderness Lodge for you and your loved one or you and the whole, it makes you wonder if you ever really need to go anywhere else while you are there. You can also sit out on the white sand beach and relax in a lounge chair as the nice breezes off of Bay Lake whisk by. Walking around the Wilderness Lodge is also another good relaxing time as you can notice all of the different architectural designs that bring about the natural harmony of the wilderness and nature to life in this fantastic resort.
PARKING
There is plenty of parking available for guests, as well as for guests with disabilities, and of course valet parking is also available.
All Disney's Deluxe Resorts offer the ultimate in luxury hotel accommodations at Walt Disney World,
that gives guests close proximity to any of the four theme parks, from lavishly appointed rooms, premier dining and shopping, as well as other activities, from golfing to tennis, and just about everything else that you can think of. So when you are thinking of visiting Walt Disney World, you might want to consider staying at one of the deluxe resorts for the a vacation that you will want to always remember. Although the prices can be a little high, you do get what you pay for during your stay, and that is the ultimate Walt Disney World experience.
