Disney Cruises: On Board Deck Activities

By Edited Dec 20, 2013 0 1

When you are planning your family discount Disney cruises you’ll want to know all of the fun activities available on  most Disney cruise ships. With a Disney themed ship filled with Disney characters and  activities, it’s a great time for your kids. But being on a cruise can get boring if you don’t have anything to do on board. Fortunately for adults and kids alike there are many fun deck activities to keep you active and entertained.

In addition to many eateries, shops, and shows on board you’ll find the following Disney cruise activities on deck:

Wide World of Sports Deck.

Inspired by the Wide World of Sports Resort at Walt Disney World in Florida this section of the cruise ship is dedicated to getting active with some classic sports. The Wide World of Sports Deck features full sized basketball courts and all the included equipment. You can enjoy a quick pick-up game, a shootout contest, or just shoot some hoops.

You’ll also find volleyball courts and soccer nets, all on one of the top decks of a beautiful cruise ship. You get active, have fun, and get amazing panoramic views of the ocean as you travel on your Disney sea adventures.

Quarter Masters.

If you are tired out from all the sports activities on the Disney ship check out the deck plan and find Quarter Masters, a massive on ship arcade. Not only will you find video games inspired by Disney shows and movies but you’ll find everything from the newest video games to some of the greatest classic video games ever made.

Running Track.

Disney cruises are done on massive cruise ships which usually have a 1/3 mile lap multi-lane track on one of the decks. You can run along the length of the ship and get breathtaking views while breathing hard on your morning, afternoon, or night run on board. With multiple lanes you won’t have to worry about being squeezed off the track of running into other guests.

Table Tennis.

On many Disney cruises you’ll find a room dedicated on deck to the classic game of table tennis. You’ll meet table tennis enthusiasts from all over the world on your cruise and whether you are a tennis pro or just wanting to learn, you can play on the ship and pass the hours aboard with intense table tennis action.

A classic staple of all cruises it is natural that Disney cruise ships feature full length shuffleboard courts. But in true Disney spirit, there isn’t just one kind of shuffleboard court. You’ll be challenged with versions of shuffleboard including Horse Play and Crazy Eight on well kept and slickly waxed shuffleboard courts right on deck.

When booking your discount Disney cruises always get the details at the time of booking to learn more about the specific cruise ship and what activities are available when you’ll be setting sail. Disney cruise information can be found on Disney’s official website as well as through your local travel agent.
