How To Lose More Weight By Cheating On Your Diet Plan

For those who just started a weight loss program or thinking about starting a weight loss program, Dr. Oz has a solution that may help the transition go a little smoother.  Whenever you start a new weight loss program, you sometimes feel as if you have to deprive yourself of your favorite foods in order to lose the amount of weight you want to and be successful on your diet.  Dr. Oz says that you can have one day a week where you actually "cheat" on your diet by eating your favorite foods and lose even more weight!

If you think about it, there may be some truth to this.  When you start a new weight loss program, part of your anxiety about it is that you will have to do dramatic changes to your lifestyle, including giving up your favorite foods.  Those cravings, and wants may actually hinder your weight loss efforts because they affect your body emotionally, physically and psychologically.  Dreading having a bowl of veggies because you really want a hamburger with all the toppings can actually hinder your weight loss efforts!

So What Does Dr. Oz Say About Cheating On Your Diet?

According to Doctoroz.com, cheating on your diet is a good thing because it allows you to rest from your restricted diet during the week and allows your body a temporary shift from your weight loss plan. Since too much deprivation really does lead to more cravings, and more cravings lead to binge eating or excessive eating, scheduling a day during the week where you can eat what you want is a really good thing for your diet and will actually help you lose more weight.

What Is Dr. Oz's Fat-urday Weight Loss Cheat Plan?

According to Doctoroz.com, his FAT-urday cheat plan includes the following:

  • Choose one day a week a head of time that you know will be your cheat day: Doing this will help you not cheat during the week because you know you have this "gift" day coming up.
  • Lessen The Temptation To Binge: Don't eat while driving, watching television or walking around the house. You still need to keep accurate track of how much and how many calories you are eating during the week.  When you are distracted by these things, it is hard to keep tally. Always make sure sure portions are correctly measure out and do not eat from the bag, or container.
  • Still Maintain Restraint During Your FAT-urday days!  Just because your weight loss diet regimen is relaxed on this one day, doesn't mean you go buck wild.  Dr. Oz says you can still enjoy your favorite foods and still stay under 1300 calories on your "gift" days simply by keeping on an eating schedule during the day for your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and also making wise substitution in the ingredients. Wise ingredient substitutions would include making sweet potato french fries, making sure your steak is a lean cut of beef and making your pizza with whole wheat crust instead of white processed flour.
  • Also, you should still watch your beverage intake.  One cup of juice or soda can still be over 100 calories.  So you don't want to drink the whole bottle or carton of juice or soda just because it is your cheat day.
