Dysfunction and frustration at the office can be caused by a multitude of reasons such as the variation in views, religions, and personalities. Among the vast difference in personalities, there may be some who have personalities that cannot blend well with others. These types of personalities come at every position high or low. That is putting it mildly. There are tendencies of jealousy, backbiting, gossiping, and downright hatefulness.
While offices everywhere are cutting Christmas parties out or cutting expenses to bare minimum, many employees sit at home watching "The Office". This may be a hyped up version of what some of us put up with day in and day out, but making us laugh at something we can relate to is actually a good way to deal with some of the frustration. It may even make you feel grateful that you don't have to deal with some of the things in these episodes.
There are always things that we don't like about our jobs, our co-workers, or our bosses, but that is part of life. There will always be unfair disadvantages and gross misuse of company funds while employee benefits are cut drastically. By watching shows like this it helps us make light of situations that tend to build up before they get blown out of proportion. It is entertainment with a hint of belief.
The holidays seem to magnify our tensions at the office. Some of the things that workers may be dealing with are demotions, lack of promotions, no raises or minimal raises, layoffs, no bonuses, cancelled parties, and removal of coffee or other employee benefits. These seem to be a regular part of our lives with the way the ecomony is.
Even with the economy the way it is, there are sometimes still questions as to the direction of some company's expenditures. Dealing with these situations alone are enough to create a huge amountof tension at any job. Sometimes stepping out of reality can bring us to a place that helps us deal appropriately with the circumstances in the real world.
