By Edited May 23, 2015 0 0

If you love the idea of a nice long soak in the tub, but you dread using any products, because you have sensitive skin, then you should try this easy homemade bath gel. This is great for anyone with sensitive skin and is also great for children.

It is really easy to make, and all you need is a jar with a tight fitting lid to keep it in. You can also make this for a nice gift for anybody you know who would enjoy bath gel but has sensitive skin.

Ingredients for homemade bath gel.

1/2 cup of bottled water (don't use tap water for this recipe, use bottled or distilled)

1 packet of unflavored gelatin (you can get this at the grocery store)

1/2 cup of baby shampoo (use a baby shampoo that you have used before and your hair and skin are OK with. If this is for kids, make sure the baby shampoo is OK for them)

One soft bath pillow for soaking away your worries! These really help support your neck and head and let you soak longer. You can get these at Amazon online as in the picture. Luxury Comfort LARGE white vinyl & FOAM relaxing NECK spa BATH Pillow hot TUB New

How to make the homemade bath gel

Take a small pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil. Then add the gelatin and stir until it is dissolved. Take the pot off the stove, and then slowly stir in the baby shampoo.

Now let this sit and cool until it is just warm, and then pour into a wide mouthed clean jar that has a tight fitting lid.

Now take this jar and put in the fridge, this sets the gel.

Now when you want to use some, take a few teaspoons and put in the bath like a bubble bath, or use on a washcloth for washing. But remember, this homemade bath gel should stay in the fridge. It will last about a month.

It gets you nice and squeaky clean without the harshness of regular soaps, and works well for children too. Put it under the hot water tap when filling the tub if you want more of a bubble bath.

If you want to make this as a gift for someone you know with sensitive skin, just use a decorative jar and add a ribbon. But make sure they know to store it in the fridge.

Other than the gelatin, if you have kids, you most likely have these ingredients around the house.
