Do you have a budget that you try to live on every month? Do you find that you have a hard time making it to the end of the month before you run out of cash? You are not alone. It seems more and more people are looking for easy ways to save money in their monthly finances. The good news is that for most people, the amount that you can save by taking these ideas and putting them into action can be quite a lot.

Number One: Make Coffee

That cup of coffee at your favorite stop on your way to work every morning probably costs you a couple of bucks. Most people do not even think about this as spending too much money. However if you do the math, that is $40 a month that you are spending on purchasing a cup of coffee on the way to work. You can easily purchase a travel mug and brew your own coffee for the commute into the office to save money every month.

Number Two: Pack a Lunch

When you are working in an office setting, it always seems that you no sooner sit down to start your day then someone is coming by with the takeout menu for lunch. It is time that you tell this person to keep walking when they come by your desk. That cash that you are putting out for lunch every day can be the extra money that you need for your emergency savings account or even to help start your child's college fund. It takes no time to pack up a lunch the night before and grab it on the way out the door in morning. Doing this can save money to the tune of between $100 and $200 a month easily.

Number Three: Eat Dinner At Home

After a long day at work and running the family around, the last thing that most of us want to do is to cook dinner. This is why there is always a wait at restaurants and your favorite takeout places. You can create easy to make dinners at home with simple tools like a crock pot and other great small kitchen appliances. All you have to do is to remember that with the money that you are saving with this, you will be able to do more of the things that you love later on.

Number Four: Movie Nights At Home

The cost of a movie ticket has gone up so much in the last couple of years, that two people going out for the evening can easily cost you over $100. Stopping by your local rental box and grabbing a DVD and making some popcorn at home can be just as fun and entertaining.

Number Five: Stop Smoking

If you want to save money every month, you can start by stopping any of the bad habits that you currently have. Smoking is one of those habits that can cost you a lot each month. It might take you a while and a bit of work to do this, but the return on time investment will be huge for you.
