One of the most important things to do when the economy starts to take a nosedive is to find easy ways to save money today. There are many things that you can do to save money in your life. However, if the ways that you choose to save money are not easy to follow then you will stop doing them just as fast as you started them. That is why it is important for you to implement these easy ways to save money today.
Step One
Drop your TV package down to the bare minimum of what you use. If you are like most people, you are paying a small fortune for the ability to watch over 200 channels and you at most watch three through out the week. This is one of the easy ways to save money today because you will not miss what you never used.
Step Two
Turn off the lights in your house during the day and open the blind to let the sunlight come in. There is a lot of money being wasted in lighting your room during the day, when the simple act of opening the blinds is one of the easy ways to save money. This will be good for your wallet and for the environment.
Step Three
Make your own cup of coffee at home and take it with you. For a couple of dollars you can purchase a reusable travel coffee mug to replace your daily coffee stop. It is much more cost effective to make your own coffee at home and it will save you commute time on the way to work not having to make that stop. Getting to work on time and one of the easy ways to save money all wrapped up into one step.

Small things that can save big in the long run.
Great advice. I must remember step 2 more often. I always leave my lights on in my home and must remember to use the natural light.
I started saving money buy searching the internet for people wanting to sell their unwanted gift cards. I figured they would want to sell them cheap to get rid of them and I could still get the things I needed.
Well I cam across I cool site. They sell gift cards for just a fraction of the amount. My first bid was on a $25.00 walmart gift card. Just to try it out. I won and I did get my card. I had no problem using I paid $1.10 for it. Cool profit!
Long story short. I buy larger amount of Walmart gift cards from this site because I have a Walmart super center in my area. SO I buy at least 1 250.00 Walmart card a week to do my weeking shopping with. This savings has help me and many of my friends out considering some of them are unemployed with families to feed.

I like #1. No need for such a big cable bill, especially when you can watch almost any TV show online for free these days.
Sometimes keeping the drapes closed and the blinds down, keep electric bills down; especially in the summer, when letting in the sunlight will warm up a home or apartment and keep the air conditioning running more. So #2 needs to be reviewed on a case by case basis.
I'm a big advocate for #1. TV consumes too many people's lives today. There is so much out there to do, why waste 4 hours a day on the couch? Great tips to reduce the monthly bills!
I agree with HFT and #1, it's a huge time saver AND money saver to shut off the TV (or use it less)
