Easy Ways to Stay Healthy Through Cold Season

If you hear about it once a day, you probably hear it about a thousand times that it is very important to stay healthy through cold season. This has always been the case and something that doctor's warned us about every year at our check ups. It is just now that with the rise in colds like swine flu that people are starting to take the warnings to stay healthy seriously. While many people are choosing to go to extremes when it comes to keeping the cold germs away. The good news is that you do not need to do this to keep yourself and the ones that you love safe from colds like the swine flu. All you have to do is to follow a few simple tips to make sure that you stay healthy through cold season.

Wash Your Hands

Your mother always told you to wash your hands often. Well when it comes to your health, she was right. There are millions of germs on the things that we touch through out our days. It is best to use a good anti bacterial soap to wash your hands with and make sure that you wash them for one minute to make sure that they are fully clean. To stay healthy, you want to make sure that you limit the amount of germs that you come in contact with and can cause you to get sick. Washing your hands often will put you on the right track to make this a reality.

Do Not Cough into Your Hands

There was a time when you were taught to cover your mouth when you cough. The way that you were taught to do this was by using your hands. While covering your mouth is important to stop the spread of cold germs, the worse way to do this is with your hands. The germs will get out your hands and easily be spread elsewhere without you even realizing it. To stay healthy, you should cough or sneeze into your elbow or shoulder to make sure that you do not spread any cold germs.

Call Out

With times being tough, many people do not want to risk their job by calling out when they are starting to feel sick. This is not the way to stay healthy and to keep everyone that you know healthy as well. When you are feeling under the weather, you need to take the time off from work to help give your body time to fight what is in your system. Calling out will also limit exposing others to what you have and make sure that your already weakened immune system does not pick up any other types of illness that may keep you off your feet longer then the simple cold that you have. This is very important when you are trying to stay healthy through cold season.

"Do Not Cough into Your Hands" - this is so true. If you do not have a tissue, cough into your upper sleeve or elbow... as pointed out in the text... thumbs up for you!
