Easy Ways to Stop Excessive Underarm Sweating

By | May 18, 2010 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

Excessive underarm sweating, also known as 'hyperhidrosis', is basically a very common medical condition nowadays. If left untreated, it can cause embarrassment and pose social problems for people who suffer from it. If you wish to learn how to stop excessive underarm sweating, you will be pleased to know that there are several easy approaches that you can take.

Antiperspirants

They work on the basis of controlling the amount of sweat emitted from the sweat glands through the skin. I would advise you to use a strong antiperspirant product in addition to a deodorant. While deodorants do not control sweating, they can mask and remove the odor associated with underarm sweating. These products can be purchased over the counter at local drug stores and supermarkets. You can apply antiperspirants and deodorants to your underarms simultaneously, but when it comes to stopping excessive underarm sweat, antiperspirants are your best bet.

Proper Clothing

The clothes that you wear can have a huge impact on the amount of sweat that you produce. You would want to wear clothes made of breathable fabrics like cotton during a hot humid day so you will not trap excess heat which can lead to excessive underarm sweating. Also, you should stay away from man-made fibers like polyester. One exception to the rule on man-made fabrics is in athletic wear. There are some athletic wear that have been designed to keep excessive sweating underarms in check.

Talcum Powder

This is a substance that you can get at your local drug store. To stop sweating, you can apply talcum powder to your underarms along with your antiperspirant. This can be a very effective excessive underarm sweating treatment.

Stress Relief and Relaxation

For most people who suffer from excessive sweating underarm, it is often noticed that they experience a lot of stress in their lives. Thus, learning how to reduce your stress levels and how to relax can help to reduce excessive sweating. If possible, you should always take some time out each day to mediate or just sit in quiet contemplation. While you may never be able to completely eliminate stress from your life, you can at least take steps or measures to reduce it. You can consider exercising or find some activity that you enjoy participating in.
