Effective Skin Care Treatment
Ensuring that your skin looks great and is at its best condition requires care. Here, we will discuss the basics on anti-aging skin treatments – cleansing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing.
Cleansing At the end of each day, it is always best to have a thoroughly cleansed face. Without this, bacteria, dirt and dead skin cells will build up on our face, and will result in a dull and dirty face. The dirt and bacteria also increases the risk of infections and skin breakouts. People with oily skin must cleanse their skin regularly, since the oil in their face tends to act like a magnet for debris and dirt. Avoid the use of harsh soaps on your face as these may dry out your skin. Another thing to remember is that you should not overdo it. You may wash away the skin's essential oils. Wash your face at night, and, during the mornings, a brief wash with lukewarm water will do.
Exfoliating This involves a thorough cleansing of the skin, so that the top layer of the skin is removed. As such, a healthy and new layer of skin is grown. You can exfoliate your skin using scrubs, microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
Toning The use of a toner helps bring back the pH balance of the skin. It also gets rid of traces of dirt that remain even after you have cleansed your face. Toning also tightens up the pores of the skin so that your skin appears smoother and there is less risk of bacterial infection and breakouts.
Moisturizing Water is not just for your inner body systems, it's for your skin as well. When our skin is left as is, without moisturizing, it is more prone to dryness and cracking. Moisturizers work to seal in the water in your skin.
Aside from facial cleansers, moisturizers, toners and exfoliating kits, here are other things you should also make sure to have in your basic beauty kit:
Sunscreen: Sun damage is one of the most common causes of wrinkles and skin damage.
Eye creams: The area around the eye is made of skin that has virtually no fatty tissue. It is thus more prone to develop wrinkles. Eye creams should be gently patted on the eye area – not rubbed. Be sure to use the ring finger while applying the eye cream as this is considered the weakest finger and will exert the least pressure to this sensitive region.
Lip balm: This provides relief from dry and chapped lips.
Eye makeup remover: This erases hard to remove eye makeup, especially the kind that is water proof. Most eye makeup removers are formulated to be gently on the delicate eye area.
