Effective Ways to Remove Garlic Odor From Your Hands

By | Oct 1, 2009 | 0 Comments | Rating: 0

If you are like me, you use a lot of garlic, you know the lingering garlic odor on your hands. While garlic is great for cooking it doesn't exactly make for a wearable, attractive fragrance. In my house garlic is the first ingredient in any recipe which I think is pretty standard in an Italian household. Garlic odor can be difficult to remove if you don'€™t know how.

Things You Will Need

Something stainless steel, rosemary, salt

Step 1

Rub your hands on anything stainless steel. Rub your palms and backs of your hands along with your fingers on a stainless steel sink, butter knife, fork, spoon or anything else that maybe stainless steel in your kitchen.

Use salt to neutralize garlic odor. Run warm water over your hands and pour some salt into the palm of your hand. Wash your hands with the salt. If you have any cuts or scrapes on your hands, I wouldn't advise this method because the salt will burn.

Head for your herb garden. Cut a sprig of fresh Rosemary and roll and crush the Rosemary back and forth and all around your hands. Rosemary will take the smell of garlic off of your hands and leave a fresh Rosemary scent in its place.

Any one of these methods is very effective for removing the odor of garlic from your hands. It is really up to you to pick your favorite or use what you have available. See which one works best for you.
