Emergency Government Grants - For Families with Children

By Edited Nov 13, 2013 0 0

Need Emergency Cash Fast?

Let’s face it, during these economic times, sometimes families run into a tight spot where they have a need for emergency government grants or other cash assistance.

Sometimes families have issues with running out of money during the holidays, having emergency issues or a financial crisis where in a matter of days, the family could be put out on the street.

However, this government grant money can be sued to cover more than just a defaulted mortgage. It can also be used for utility bills; children related emergency expenses etc., and even personal expenses.

Typically states have a reserve and a process by which they determine a family’s need. And generally all state emergency cash funds are in place ONLY for people with children. So if you don’t have children, you may have to make alternate arrangements with family or friends to get emergency cash under these circumstances.

How Does One Qualify for Government Emergency Money?

  • As previously indicated, typically you must have at least one child (under 21).
  • Meet low income provisions and guidelines.
  • Have an imminent eviction letter or notice
  • Have an imminent utility shut off notice

What Do You Need To Bring?

  • Government Photo ID
  • Proof of Address
  • Proof of Income
  • Proof of Emergency
  • Proof of cash or lack thereof resources (bank statement)
  • Showing Household expenses ie, gas and electric bill (must have current address)
  • Social Security Cards (for you and children)
