Ersan Ilyasova is a basketball player out of Turkey currently playing in the NBA. His first club was Ulker, which was one of Turkey's best teams before it joined with Fenerbahce, to form Ulker Fenerbahce. After a couple years playing there, Ersan Ilyasova was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2005-2006 where he was picked late in the second round. In his first season with the Bucks, Ersan Ilyasova didn't actually get to play in the NBA and played with the team's D-League Side, the Tulsa 66ers. The following year, Ersan finally made got some playing time in the NBA. He averaged 6 points and 3 rebounds, in 15 minutes of limited play. He didn't feel ready for the NBA game at the tender age of 20 and so he went out to play in the Euroleague for 2 years to improve his skills. After his two year tenure with Barcelona, Ersan once again was picked up by the Milwaukee Bucks in July of 2009. In the 2009-2010 season, he has started shown why he was such a highly regarded player back in Turkey and is now a starter for the Bucks who are on verge of making the playoffs.

Ersan Ilyasova's game is hard to describe as there is hardly any player like him. One of the closest comparisons that can be made is his country mate Hedo Turkoglu of the Toronto Raptors. At 6'10 he is a long player but still retains his agility and athleticism. He can shoot the ball from practically anywhere on the floor and has the ability to take it hard to the rack. Playing for the Turkish national team this past summer, he took command of the team and led the whole way and was first in practically all statistical categories. In the Bucks, he has so far accepted his responsibility as being a primary defensive asset, and on offense is usually limited to setting picks and scoring points through offensive boards or finding a way to get open without the ball.

Ersan Ilyasova is a very active player and this is both his main asset and biggest liability at this moment. His activity on the court is a source of inspiration for his teammates, and often times leads to great things for his team. Offensive rebounds, steals, hustle, and great defense are just some of the things you get with Ersan Ilyasova. However, as mentioned above, his high level of acitivity also is leading him to easily get into foul trouble. While a little more respect and knowledge from the referees side is expected as he settles into the league, he also has to improve his IQ and not play too out of control. If Ersay Ilyasova can find a way to stay on the court for extended periods of time and still retain his high level of intensity he will be a valuable asset for any team that he might end up in. His career is bright and he is still young, Ersan Ilyasova Picture should be an All-Star before his career is over with.
