Eternity Rings- Eternal Love
There is a significant price different in the rings, with the price reflecting the number of stones and the materials used to make the ring shank itself (most commonly gold, silver, or sometimes platinum or palladium, depending on one's tastes). The type of eternity ring that has stones completely encircling it are generally referred to as full eternity rings, whereas the partially covered rings are called half eternity rings. The full eternity rings, while are quite glamorous in appearance, have some very important drawbacks to be considered by the purchaser before taking the plunge and investing in this type of expensive jewelry.
A full eternity ring cannot be changed once it is made, meaning that resizing of the ring is not workable because the ring is completely covered in stones and there is no bare part of the ring for the jeweler to adjust or resize. Regardless of whether the buyer is purchasing a full or a half eternity ring, these rings have distinctive stone settings to also be considered, and the purchaser needs to take this into account before investing in such an extravagant gift. Claw set versus flush set stones change the appearance of the ring. The buyer may want to ask for examples at several jewelry stores in order to get a sense of what the setting options are, because the differences can be quite subtle to the untrained eye.
In addition, the shape of the stones themselves can vary. Generally, standard rings, which are not eternity rings, will have rounded stone edges, but for eternity rings, it is often common to find such ring with square stones. This square shape allows the stones to fit together seamlessly edge to edge around the shank of the ring, and it helps create a beautiful flow and continuity to the ring, without any unnecessary gaps or breaks in the line of jewels encircling the wearer's finger. All of these stylistic issues should be researched by anyone considering purchasing eternity rings for a loved one.
