And everyone is drawn to the smell of cookies baking. These simple cookie recipes are good for you and simple to make too. Plus they have the added benefit of being fat free or low fat plus low carb also.

Cookies Using Sunflower Seed Butter
This one makes a nice substitute for cookies using peanut butter. Combine the following ingredients:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar packed down
- Sunflower seed butter-cold
- Some softened butter
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, large
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
Heat the oven to 275. Combine the baking powder, baking soda, salt and flour in a bowl. Then combine in another bowl the butters and both sugars and beat until fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue to beat until combined.
Slowly add in the flour mix and mix until combined. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Take out and roll into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Using a fork or spoon, dip it in the flour and using the back press the cookies to flatten. Bake in oven for 10 minutes. Cool slightly then put on rack or wax paper.
- ½ cup soft butter
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 egg, large
- ½ cup flour-all purpose
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 ungreased cookie sheet
Heat your oven to 375. Combine the sugar, cream of tarter and baking soda. Quickly beat the butter and add the sugar mix and beat well. Combine the vanilla and egg then beat into the mixture. Add the flour until mixed. Cover the bowl using plastic wrap and put in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Remove and make into small balls. Mix the cinnamon and sugar together and roll the balls in it so covered lightly.
Put the cookies on the cookie sheet about 2” apart. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. Let cool.
