Exercises For Your Kids Outside

During the spring and summer seasons there are so many outdoor exercise activities that they can be doing. Instead of sitting on the couch watching television or playing video games, they can get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather while exercising at the same time.

Jump Rope: Jump rope is an exercise activity that kids can do outside. As they get better they can double jump and play double dutch as well as other jumping games with other kids.

Skip It: Skip it is a fun exercise that kids can do outside by themselves. They don’t need friends or another family member to play with. Simply put the skip it around the ankle and swing it around to jump over. The more advanced skip its will tell you how many jumps you do.

Roller Skate: Roller skating or roller blading are both great activities for your kids to learn. Start them on roller skates and as they get more advanced move them up to blades. This is a great way to practice balance and control.

Pogo Stick: A pogo stick is a great way to get your child’s legs moving quickly. If they are talented enough they can use the pogo stick to jump over lines that are made with chalk on the driveway.

Stilts: Stilts is an old outdoor toy that has been popular for years. It is used in a circus and shows to make a person look taller than they really are.

Trampoline: A trampoline is one of the most fun outdoor toys for kids. They can bounce on it all day while making up their own silly games.

Hopscotch: Hopscotch is a great traditional game to teach your kids. This is a fun game that only requires a piece of chalk and a driveway or sidewalk.

Bike: Going for a bike ride is a great family activity that will give everyone in the family exercise. Pedal your bike around the neighborhood and maybe stop at a local ice cream shop for a cool treat.

Scooter: Riding your scooter up and down the block is a great outdoor exercise for your child. Encourage them to have races with the other neighbor kids to burn all of their energy out.

Ball Games: Kickball, soccer, baseball, basketball and volleyball are a few outdoor games that are a favorite of many kids. The list of ball games goes on and on. Many parents enjoy teaching their kids games that they enjoyed as a kid such as croquet. There are so many games that kids can play with their family or with neighborhood friends.

Swing Set: A swing set for your backyard is a good investment for your kids. They can play on the monkey bars, climb the ladder and soar high on the swings. These activities are all a great exercise for your youngster.

Hoola Hoop: Hoola Hooping is a wonderful activity for your child. See how many times that can make the hoola hoop go around their hips. This is a great work out for the body.
