The red fox is the most famous and widespread fox species. You can find red foxes on almost everyone on the globe. It is the largest fox species and it's also the only fox species that isn't anywhere near the endangered species list. This is due to the fact that the fur trade has lost most of its intrest in red fox fur as more and more synthetics being put out on the market.

What kind of pet does a fox make?
Red foxes have been known to make great pets. On the other hand they have also been known to make terrible pets. So which one is it? Well it really depends on how you bond with your fox and how well you train it. If you obtain a fox as a kit, you are going to have a better chance to bond with your fox than you would if you get one that's parent raised. Also, people who rescued injured or abandoned foxes have had great success bonding with their foxes. A good, well-trained, fox will act like a pet dog but retain it fox-like cleverness and independence. They don't require too much additional care as opposed to a dog. Just rather a specialized diet consisting of high protein dog foods and vegetables. They can also be trained to use a litter box, although; their urine tends to smell rather strongly. Feeding your fox berries (antioxidants) will help reduce the smell of their urine.
So where do I get one?
Well it's safe to say that your probably not going to find a fox at your local pet store. So if you want one you're going to have to get on google and try to find a local fox breeder. For a red fox your usually going to be paying around $200-300 depending on where you buy yours. Make sure you take it to the vet and get all the same shots and vaccines that you would give a dog.
