Extreme Paintball Is Great Fun

The sport of paintball is some of the most fun one can have and extreme paintball is the most intense fun I have had in a long time. Paintball is a sport that is growing faster than almost any other, the fact that the whole family can play is appealing to many. There is something about getting geared up and playing a grown up type of tag, maybe it's reminiscent of childhood memories.

The types of games you can get involved in when it comes to paintball are as varied as the people who play them. One particular type of game-play I enjoy the most is extreme paintball. Although not an official game in and of itself, it is more like the seriousness involved when playing normal paintball.

Specifically, a game of woodsball, playing in the woods, can become a game where tacticians can hone Para-military type skills. It's fun to pretend you are a Special Forces squad attempting to obtain secret documents in enemy quarters and you cannot be detected. So what is extreme paintball exactly?

Although I imagine the more extreme scenarios played in some woods or in an empty field or industrial park, the truth is, any game can become extreme paintball. There are those who practice almost every day, and spend more on their gear than it would cost to buy a car. I have seen guns that cost as much as 5,000 dollars or more just for one.

These military-style assault riffles are almost indistinguishable from the real thing, except for the tank that holds the preferred propellant. They have every type of gun you can imagine including pump paintball and often they cost as much as the real thing, that is extreme. Even more extreme is the other type of equipment used in extreme paintball.

Can you imagine paint grenades, or paint land mines? How about a clamor mine loaded with enough paint to take out an entire squad? They have all of these things and much more. They aren't cheaply made junk either, they look and feel like the real thing in many cases. How about a night assault with full night vision gear and everything, this is what I mean by extreme.

You can even use real military gear in much of this type of a game-play and many do. Imagine owning a Barrett arms style .50 caliber paintball sniper rifle and having a spotter with high grade binoculars pointing out your target. In fact many ex-military and police are playing these types of games more and more.

There are even some cities that are having their police swat teams train with paintball markers due to their realism and relative safety. If you want to take it to the ultimate extreme, I have seen paintball grenade launchers, rocket launchers, and even paintball tanks, yes tanks. So I think you get the picture that if you have the money, there really is no limit to how extreme you can get when playing paintball these days.

This type of ultimate paintball is not for everyone but if you have the time and money then it can be awesome fun. The level of intensity will obviously vary depending on the limitations of those involved. Those who can take it to the extreme, however, will have some of the most fun of their lives playing extreme paintball.
