Extreme sports you have to try

Extreme sports to try before you die

When people are asked to describe an extreme sport or activity the words often cited include things like fast, fun, entertaining, high octane, exhilarating, dangerous and risky. In fact, risky and dangerous are words that come up time and time again, yet still thousands of people are happy to take part in extreme sports and activities all over the world on  a daily basis. What is the rationale behind this? Extreme sports look cool and onlookers often look on in admiration, so it does give an ego boost. Some people like to face danger head on, and extreme sports allow this also. However
you look at it, there are loads of people just like you and me taking part in extreme activities, so what’s your excuse? Why aren’t you?

You may be thinking, “there isn’t any extreme sports out there I can do”, and if you are this is utter rubbish. There are loads of extreme sports and activities you can do and a few of the more popular ones are as follows:

Extreme Sports - Sky diving

Out of all the extreme sports skydiving provides the biggest adrenaline rush off the lot. The whole experience, from start to finish, is a roller coast ride full of different emotions that vary from excitement to fear to relief, and everything in between. Being taken up to several thousand feet
and jumping out of a plane (strapped to an instructor of course), free falling for a bit and then floating down to earth on the end of an oversized sheet is an awesome experience and something you have to do before you die.

Extreme Sports - Snowboarding

There’s no doubt about it, snowboarding is cool and watching experienced snowboarders glide over the snow, pulling off the occasional trick is awesome to watch. Top snowboarders make it look so easy in reality it is not. Snowboarding is difficult, although you should be able to get to the bottom of a slope upright after a few hours of practice. This may not seem very extreme, but when you’re actually doing it snowboarding at this level feels very extreme.

Extreme sports - White water rafting

White water rafting has to be the most exhilarating extreme water sport of all time that doesn’t involve an engine. If having to keep th boat upright and stop it from sinking in the fast flowing rapids isn’t enough you also have to manoeuvre it around the sharp and jagged rocks. If you want a
rough ride that gets the adrenaline flowing through your veins white water rafting is just what you are looking for.

Extreme sports - Bungee jumping

If you stop and think about it bungee jumping is a ridiculous idea, however this doesn’t stop thousands of people giving it a go on a daily basis. Attaching yourself to a giant elastic band and then jumpin off a bridge, a crane or some other high building is a scary thing to do but it is so much fun. Bungee jumping is widely available and you will find opportunities everywhere so there are no excuses to get yourself kitted out and waiting for the familiar “1, 2, 3, bungee!”.

Extreme sports - Big game fishing

General coarse fishing is anything but extreme, however big game fishing is. Going out to sea, trolling a lure and waiting for those large tuna, marlin, tarpon and sharks to take the bait is an exhilarating experience however the adrenaline doesn’t really kick in until the monster fish is hooked and the battle commences. Fighting big game fish is hard work for both the fish and the angler and the fight can last for several hours.

Extreme sports - Kite surfing

Kite surfing involves surfing but using wind power rather than wave power to get you moving, making it ideal for waters where the waves are not large enough for standard surfing. The wind is far less predictable than waves and it is often more ferocious, therefore many people consider kite
surfing far more extreme than normal surfing. Kite surfing involves relying on the wind and since you can’t control this, kite surfing can be a rollercoaster of a ride. One minute you will be ripping along nicely and the next you will be pulled ten feet in the air and off your board.

Extreme sports - Motorcycle track days

Riding powerful motorcycles is exhilarating but the public highway is a dangerous place that is full of drivers who, despite the colourful leathers, full headlights and fluorescent jackets, “never see” motorcycles. The safest place to experience the exhilaration and adrenaline rush of ridin powerful motorcycles fast is to take part in a track day, of which there are many held all over the place. The best thing about track days is there is no traffic, everyone is travelling in the same direction, and you can keep your license nice and clean yet still go as fast as you possibly can.

The list above are extreme sports and activities you must try before you die and are just a handful of the many types of extreme sports and activities you can do. These activities are available all over the world and you won’t have to travel too far from home, although you will get the most out of them and generally enjoy them more when you are on vacation.

Sky diving - Jumping the beach in Australia

It is harder to start kitesurfing than surfing, but it is much easier to learn first tricks when you already get on the board. Kitesurfing is much more dangerous, specially in the beginning and it is necessary to comlete at least IKO 2 kitesurfing course to become independent.
