Eyebrow Pencils - A Basic Guide

By Edited Aug 24, 2016 0 0

One part of the face that's often overlooked when it comes to beauty are the eyebrows. Brows that are beautifully shaped have the ability to turn an average looking person into a very stunning one! Conversely, eyebrows that don't really work with the face on a symmetrical level can have truly negative effects. If you're not happy with your eyebrows, never fear! They are one of the easiest areas of the face to improve. In this article, we'll look at one of the most popular ways to achieve great brows - The eyebrow pencil. Keep in mind as you read the following text that there is a ton of good information online. There are also great deals to be had if you want to try out a particular brand of pencil. Don't be shy!

As you probably know, men and women use eyebrow pencils to fill in the brows. You see, not all of us are blessed with naturally full, lush eyebrows. We need a little help... Now before you grab that fresh new waterproof eyebrow pencil and dive in, you need to clean up the area above your eyes a little bit. The best way to do this is with a good set of tweezers. What you want to do is make the eyebrow look as much like an arch as possible. Don't worry if it's not that full. We'll fix that with the pencil later. Take out one hair at a time so you don't overdo it. Stop every five hairs or so and re-evaluate your eyebrows. Remember that, generally speaking, less is more!

Not that your brows are nice and clean, it's time to pick up a pencil. The best eyebrow pencils are non-greasy and go on smooth. You also want something that's natural and waterproof. This will ensure that you don't expose your eyebrow hairs to anything that could cause damage down the road.

Using an eyebrow pencil isn't that difficult but there are a few things you should keep in mind. Start in the middle of the brow. Now push away from the tip, towards the ear. Use light, soft strokes as you do this. I find that it's better to be too light then too heavy. You can always go back later and fill in any spots that need more color. When you get to the end of the eyebrow, make your way back towards the center of the face. Repeat this process until you are happy with the overall appearance of your brows and face.
