Facial Hair Removers
It is not a shameful thing to have facial hair, as it is normal. It is very ordinary and natural to have some amount of stray hairs in the facial area. To some people, the hairs are barely noticeable, but for some they are very annoying and embarrassing. More than the embarrassment, too many of these hairs can also cause low self-esteem to the person, but these should not be of a worry since there are lots of facial hair removers that can be tried to achieve a smooth and clean looking face.
Here are some of the facial hair removers that are widely used:
* Depilatory Creams
The facial hair removal cream gets rid of the hair from the root. The cream is put on then wiped off. The hair removal is instant. The only thing that may be intolerable about it is the smell of the creams.
* Tweezers
Tweezers grip the hair to pull it out from its roots. The effect of facial hair removers will only last for weeks to a month. This is one of the least expensive ways of facial hair removal since what is needed is just the tweezers, but this is very time consuming as it can only pull out one hair at a time. Plucking is painful and sometimes can cause ingrown hairs when it breaks under the skin when pulled. Redness on the skin may be noticed after the hair removal as well. That is because of the irritation and swelling of the hair follicle. So be sure that the tweezers have been sterilized before using it to avoid possible infection. This method is suitable though to those who only have a few stray hairs to remove.
* Razor
This is used to shave the hairs. There are different types of facial hair removers like razors: disposable and electric. Since it is just the tip of the hair that grows through the skin, the effect of using a razor in hair removal is only up to three days. Shaving is not expensive, as it can be done by the person himself. Another thing that is needed aside from a razor is shaving cream or just a small amount of shampoo. However, frequent shaving can cause bumps, razor burns, ingrown hairs and cuts. Ingrown hairs are hairs that failed to continue growing through the skin. Instead, they tend to curl inside the follicle and this irritates the skin. One way to avoid the development of ingrown hairs is to shave in a direction that the hair is growing. It is best to do the shaving when the skin is soft, usually after a hot shower. This is the best facial hair removal for men.
* Electrolysis Machine
Unlike the first three mentioned, this is not a do it yourself facial hair remover, this procedure has to be done by a professional electrologist. The procedure works by a needle being inserted into the hair follicle to send an electrical current. The current directly targets and kills the roots of the hair. This process is very time consuming as only a few hairs can be treated at a time and it is expensive as well. This hair removal technique is commonly used only for small areas where an almost permanent hair removal is being aimed like on the upper lip and eye brows. The patient might experience pain, scarring of the skin, inflammation, and skin dryness. This is a great facial hair removal for women.
* Laser Hair Remover
The laser hair remover is a device that emits light that is targeted to the dark pigment of the hair follicles. This is to inhibit the hair from growing and to disable the follicles function of hair regrowth. Since the laser light targets the melanin content of the hair, this method does not work well with people who have light colored hair and dark skin as it may just leave burns. This works best on those who have light colored skin and dark hairs as the hair absorbs the emitted light, thus making the process effective. Laser hair removal has a permanent result to some but there are some patients who still have light hair regrowth so you will need follow up treatments at least every six months. This process is also expensive, but the result is beyond satisfaction. To some that have sensitive skin, it may leave some redness and inflammation but will just disappear after a few hours.
To those who cannot afford to avail themselves of the services of long lasting hair removers, they can certainly use razors and tweezers. Just take note that the hair regrowth from using these removers are stiffer and thicker. For safety and quality purposes, look for the most reliable and credible technician to perform the removal. With so many choice you should be able to find the best method for you.
